My Deranged Mafia Marriage Chapter 03

My Deranged Mafia Marriage Chapter 03

The next day, I began packing my bags.

Not much. Clothes. Documents.

The doorbell rang. I thought it was the courier delivering the divorce papers.

It wasn’t.

It was Vanessa.

A white cashmere coat. She was leading a little boy by the hand.

My knuckles turned white as I gripped the doorframe.

“Sonia? Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

She looked me up and down, savoring the moment.

“I wanted to introduce myself properly. This is Enzo; he’s starting preschool soon. Lorenzo regrets not having a proper home for him, and he wants us to move in officially.”

The boy was a miniature version of Lorenzo.

My stomach churned.

“Get out.” My voice trembled. “Take your bastard and get out of my house.”

I slammed the door—

But she jammed her hand into the gap.

She leaned in close, whispering in my ear.

“Don’t act so pure, Sonia. You think he really loves you? He told me he has to take sleeping pills just to lie next to you. He can’t stand touching you. His head is full of those men in the alley. He says you’re too dirty. He needs someone clean. Someone like me.”

The event I had spent twelve years trying to bury—

He treated it like a joke. To her.

“You have no right to speak of that—!”

I slapped her.

Vanessa staggered, her head hitting the corner of the shoe cabinet with a heavy thud.

Blood began to trickle down her cheek.

The boy started screaming.

Clutching her forehead, she stumbled back.

“You’re crazy! You’re insane! Just you wait!”

She grabbed the boy and ran toward the elevator.

I slid down against the doorframe.

Then, I pulled out the ultrasound image.

The image I had been staring at for six months.

I tore it into shreds.

The surprise I had planned for Lorenzo was tossed into the trash like garbage.

Thirty minutes later, my lawyer delivered the papers.

I signed them and left them on the coffee table.

Outside, a storm was rolling in, the thunder rattling the windows.

I picked up my suitcase—

The door burst open.

Lorenzo. His eyes were bloodshot. He grabbed me by the throat.

“Sonia, where is Enzo?”
