Betrayed During the Mating Ceremony Chapter 02

Betrayed During the Mating Ceremony Chapter 02

After the checkup ,with the sugery scheduled in three days, I left.

My reflection stared back—pale, exhausted.

I was still in my wedding gown, makeup smeared with tears.

That morning, I was a blissful bride, feeling beautiful.

In half a day, I lost everthing,lover,mother,child.

Eight years of devotion, and nothing left.

I wanted to wash my face, but my legs gave way.Familiar arms caught me.

Elias steadied me, sitting me down.He pressed a warm bowl of seafood soup into my hands.

“You must be hungry. Drink this, then rest. I’ll have someone watch here. Don’t worry,I’ll hire the best doctors.Mom will be fine.”

How “thoughtful”. He brought soup, forgetting I’m allergic to seafood.Concerned I was tired, yet forgetting he caused mother’s death.

I wanted to tear into him, expose him right there. But I was too exhausted to speak.

I let him pull me into the car, ignoring lace panties tucked under the seat. The ride was silent back to the home I’d prepared.

The decor was the same, but traces of someone else were everywhere. A handprint on our wedding photo.

Rumpled sheets ,a nightgown not mine. Each detail screamed. Disgusted, I stripped off the gown, heading to the guest room.

Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around me from behind, breath hot. “It’s our wedding night,” he murmured, chuckling.

“We can’t sleep apart. I learned something new.Want to try?”

The image of him with Morwen flashed again.Nauseated, and I shoved him. “Don’t touch me, Elias. You’re filthy.”

Something in him snapped. His face darkened. He grabbed my arm, dragging me toward a painting.

“Filthy? Isabella, who are you to call me filthy? You’ve been with others. I never held it against you. What right do you have?”

My head roared. I stared , stunned, crying without words.

Three years ago, Elias called late, asking me to bring a document to his office.

On the way, I was followed. What happened was unspeakable. The police caught them. But scars remained. Elias was consumed with guilt,

To move past it, we comforted each other, vowing never to speak of it. He tattooed my name on his heart, swearing, “My heart will always be yours.”

Three years later, on the most important day, he use that trauma as a weapon?

Tears streamed as I whispered, “Are you even human?

You know it happened because of you.The police confirmed it. Your business rivals. If not for you, none of that would’ve happened!”

No remorse showed. He laugh coldly, releasing my arm. “What does that have to do with me? If you hadn’t been careless, they wouldn’t have targeted you. Playing chaste, but I heard how loud you with others.

If you were so intent on purity, you should’ve killed yourself when they touched you.

That would’ve spared our relationship. Even now,it makes me sick.”
