He Locked Me in an Oven for Her, So I Called My Brother to Bury Them Both Chapter 03

The scorching heat hit me so hard that I could no longer stand. I trembled and collapsed onto the burning metal floor.

The second my feet left the ground, a layer of skin tore off one foot, and a scab ripped away from the other.

When my body hit the floor, my skin sizzled, swelling red and oozing fluid as if I were being seared alive.

Agony shot through every inch of me, and blood gushed from countless wounds.

To protect my baby, I ignored the pain and twisted my body to land on my back.

Every movement tore more skin away from the hot metal.

By the time I settled into position, I had almost no intact skin left.

And the baby inside me went completely still.

The onlookers outside fell silent as they watched the bloody scene inside.

Feeling my baby’s life slip away, I screamed at the top of my lungs, “Asher! My baby is dead! You killed him with your own hands! When I get out, my brother will slaughter you all! You deserve to die!”

Asher’s face paled instantly.

In the heavy silence, he walked to the small window, as if trying to check my condition.

The second he saw me covered in blood with no unharmed skin, his pupils shrank sharply.

He was about to order someone to get the key when Khloe stepped forward and took his hand.

“Mrs. Brooks, how can you say such a thing? You know how much your brother humiliated and wronged Asher. He’s long dead now, and you’re still using him to threaten Asher? Don’t you see you’re just tearing open old wounds?”

She turned to look at Asher, her voice softening. “Asher, I know all the suffering you went through. Don’t be sad. I’ll always be on your side. As for Mrs. Brooks… you really should let her out. She’s talking crazily about killing us. If she stays in there any longer, she might end up just like her brother…”

Khloe’s words stirred up bitter memories in Asher. He flew into a rage, slammed his fist against the iron wall, and snapped coldly, “Raise the temperature another 10°F! Let’s see how stubborn she can be!”

No one dared to argue with his fury. Someone obediently turned up the heat by another 10°F.

In an instant, the burning heat beneath me intensified. I felt as if I were being grilled alive.

The high heat seared through me, cooking my insides.

I couldn’t hold on any longer and fell sideways.

The second my belly touched the metal, a rush of blood poured from my lower abdomen.

The blood flowed along the floor and out through the door crack, still steaming hot even outside.

Realizing my baby was truly gone, I screamed in heartwrenching agony.

Several onlookers cried out, “This is bad! She’s dying!”

Asher had been fuming, but the shout made him spin around. He panicked at the sight of the seeping blood.

He grabbed someone nearby and roared, “The key! Get the key now!”

Khloe volunteered quickly, “Asher, I know where the key is! I’ll get it!”

Before she left, she glanced at me through the small window.

Her eyes held an undisguised smirk of triumph.
