He Scorned Me, Now I’m a CEO He Can’t Afford Chapter 26

Wyatt’s hand fell away from her.

Clara’s smile was chilling.

“I’ll tell you the truth. I planned the whole thing. I drugged the iced tea Lena drank that night. And I had my cousins keep pushing drinks on you so you’d be too drunk to notice.”

She stepped closer, her eyes glittering with a twisted satisfaction.

“I drove drunk, without a license, on purpose. I wanted to see who you would choose: me, or some stupid bull.”

She laughed.

“And you chose me, Wyatt. Just like I knew you would.”

She stared at him, her words sharp and deliberate.

“Can you even imagine how much Lena must have hated you when you pinned the whole thing on her?”

“Enough!”

Wyatt’s voice was a low growl.

He recoiled from her as if she were something filthy.

“Leave,” he said, his voice flat and dead. “Get out of my sight. I never want to see you again.”

Back in his Ford pickup, the driver glanced at him in the rearview mirror. “Sir? Are we heading home?”

“No.” Wyatt’s voice was hoarse. “To the airport.”

The driver paused.

“The airport?”

“Yes.” Wyatt stared ahead, the world blurring behind his eyes. “Get the private plane ready. We’re flying to Red Creek River.”
