Sacrificed by the Man Fated to Love Me Chapter 07

Sacrificed by the Man Fated to Love Me Chapter 07

Where did you go, Terrence? I couldn’t catch up to you at all,” Yvonne whined.

Terrence didn’t spare her a single glance. He kicked her to the ground and grabbed a fistful of her hair.

Yanking her head back, he forced her to meet his gaze. “Did you give Quinn a sepsis-inducing drug?”

Yvonne cried out in pain. Staring at Terrence with terror, she hastily shook her head and replied, “I didn’t!”

After a brief pause, she continued, “What are you talking about, Terrence? Why would I ever hurt Quinn?”

“How dare you lie to me?” Terrence snarled.

He clamped his hand around her throat and gradually began to tighten his grip.

“Why did you do it? Talk!” he barked icily.

“I-I did it for us, Terrence,” Yvonne choked out as she struggled for air. “I-If that bitch were still alive, we could never be together. I know you love me. You only restrained yourself because you’re married…”

Upon hearing this, disgust flashed across Terrence’s face. He tightened his grip and snapped, “Bullshit! I don’t even like you!”

Even as she struggled to breathe, Yvonne still had the courage to argue back.

“N-No way… You treat me better than Quinn,” she insisted. “T-There’s no way you don’t have feelings for me.”

Terrence flung her away from him with contempt before dragging her down to the basement.

The basement was dark and damp, and it was filled with an array of torture devices. Feeling terrified, Yvonne tried to run, but Terrence broke her legs without hesitation.

“You should get a taste of what Quinn went through,” he declared emotionlessly. “It’s a shame I couldn’t find as many torture devices. But no matter-these should be more than enough for you.”

He opened an iron cage and tossed her inside. Then, he picked up a red-hot branding iron and pressed it against

her skin.

“No! Terrence, please-please let me go! Ah!”

Yvonne’s bloodcurdling screams echoed through the basement.

She had just realized that she had made a huge mistake. Terrence had never been someone she could manipulate at will.

He was a complete madman. He was a monster.

“Quinn!”

My eyes flew open.

I found myself lying in an unfamiliar room, surrounded by strangers.

I scanned my surroundings warily. The room was decorated in an old, classical manner. In fact, the interior looked like something straight out of a historical drama.
“Where am I? Who are you?” I demanded.

Terrence’s mentor, John, stepped forward with a gentle smile. “Hello, Quinn. I made a deal with the Narrative and brought you here.”

His answer only made me feel more guarded.

“The Narrative? A deal? What do you want?”

After letting out a sigh, John said calmly, “I can revive you–but on one condition. I need you to stop Terrence from continuing to disrupt the Narrative laws of this world. As things stand, this alternate world of yours is on the brink of collapse.”

I was completely unfazed. “So what if it collapses? What does that have to do with me?”

I was already dead. Hence, the destruction of this world had nothing to do with me.

One of the men, an older gentleman named Simon Barnes, looked visibly alarmed. He clearly hadn’t expected me to respond this way.

“Even if you don’t care about yourself, you should still think about your family! If this world collapses, they’ll all die!” he urged frantically.

I froze.

I felt my heart drop. I didn’t care about getting a second chance at life, but I did care about my family’s lives.

After a moment of hesitation, I asked quietly, “What… happened to Terrence?”

A young man who was dressed in modern clothing cut in anxiously.

“He’s gone mad! He’s been torturing Yvonne every day, but that’s the least of our concerns right now. He’s taken several of the Narrative’s Key Figures hostage to threaten the Narrative itself. If it doesn’t revive you, he’ll kill one person every day. One of them is already dead.”

I was at a loss for words. I couldn’t believe that Terrence would harm innocent people because of me.

“Please talk some sense into him.”
