I Gave Away My Groom at the Wedding Chapter 07

Emma and I planned to go abroad together to open a design studio. Tomorrow, would be leaving this city where I was born and raised, and where I had lived for over 20 years. I never imagined that my final moments here would be spent in a hospital.

Late at night, Michael gently pushed open my hospital room door and walked to my bedside. He looked at my sleeping form, and his eyes were full of guilt. “Sarah, I’m sorry…”

I wasn’t actually asleep. I slowly opened my eyes. “You don’t need to apologize. It’s all in the past.”

“Yes, it’s all in the past.”

Thinking I wasn’t angry anymore, he looked at me with delight. “Sarah, I’ll treat you better.”

Just as he was about to continue speaking, I smiled slightly. “Michael, I want to rest. Whatever you want to say, let’s talk

tomorrow.”

“I’ll stay here and keep you company.”

“No need. Go back to the company. I want to be alone for a while.”

He said nothing more. He just quietly looked at me for a long time. Seeing that my expression seemed normal, he finally felt

relieved.

Michael leaned down and kissed my forehead gently. “Sarah, I love you. I’ll come back tomorrow.”

Then he looked at me reluctantly one more time before turning and leaving the room.

Hearing the door close, I immediately dropped all pretenses, got up, and took my already packed luggage from the cabinet. After completing the discharge procedures, I quickly left. Stars hung high in the night sky as I boarded a plane heading overseas.

The next day, Michael got up early to prepare food for me. My body was still very weak, and I hadn’t eaten much these past few days. He wanted to make some nutritious and delicious meals to help restore my strength.

But while cooking, his heart kept feeling inexplicably panicked. He recalled my expression from the night before. Although I had been smiling gently, he couldn’t feel any warmth from it.

Michael felt uneasy. He hurriedly finished preparing the food and rushed to the hospital.

After pushing open the door, he found my hospital bed completely clean, as if no one had ever stayed there. He panicked and helplessly sought out Dr. Langford. “Where’s Sarah?”

Dr. Langford said, “Ms. Mitchell completed her discharge procedures last night and already left…”

Whatever else Dr. Langford said after that, he could no longer hear. The light in Michael’s eyes gradually taded The panic that had been with him since the morning finally had an answer.

He ran out of the hospital like a madman, rushing to my former home, wanting to find me. He couldn’t believe that I would really give up all these years of our relationship.

“Impossible! She said she would always love me and never leave me. How could she bear to go?

“What she said about breaking up before must have been nonsense said in anger She couldn’t possibly beat to abandon me

But he searched every place I could be and found no trace of me. Each disappointment made him feel worse. He felt like a huge stone was pressing on his chest, making it hard to breathe.

He contacted my friends, hoping to hear any news about me, but it was all in vain. He couldn’t understand why I had left him so decisively.

Devastated, he returned home, collapsed in his room, and wailed. All his suppressed emotions finally broke him down

completely.

Suddenly, Michael thought of having the butler investigate where I had gone. But just as he got up to go out, he was blocked at his door by Margaret Wells, the housekeeper who look care of Lisa.

“Mr. Thompson, Ms. Jenner says Danny isn’t feeling well again. Please check on him right away!”
