His Tardiness, Her New Marriage Chapter 14

“No!”

Blake’s eyes were bloodshot, staring daggers at me. “Audrey! You can’t marry him! You’re my fiancée!”

He tried to rush the altar, but was restrained by several well-built security guards after just a few steps.

“Let go of me! Do you have any idea who I am?”

He struggled violently, his expensive suit becoming disheveled.

All traces of his usual calm, distinguished demeanor were gone.

“Audrey! Ashford, you let her go!”

A few of the Ashford elders frowned slightly, but their expressions didn’t change much.

They were clearly prepared for such an outburst.

Just then, a figure in white suddenly darted out from the side—it was Sloane.

She had changed back into the wedding gown.

She pushed her way to the front of the crowd, holding her phone high in the air, its screen facing the guests, her voice sharp and shrill. “Everyone! This ceremony is illegal! I am Blake’s legal wife!”

“Look! Blake and I are already married! We got a license in Vegas.”

“Look at this woman!”

Her finger trembled as she pointed at me. “She’s marrying someone else while my marriage is still legally active!”

She turned her phone screen toward the officiant, toward Nathaniel’s family, and even toward the surrounding guests.

On the screen was a clear photo of the inside of a Clark County marriage certificate!

“Audrey! You’re just a pathetic, self-deceiving fool! You schemed and plotted to marry Mr. Ashford just to find yourself a bigger safety net, didn’t you?”

“Let me tell you, even if you’ve latched onto the Ashford family, you can’t change the facts! You will always be a joke!”

Her words sent a shockwave through the hall!

Countless shocked gazes darted back and forth between Sloane’s phone screen and me.

The color had drained from my parents’ faces, turning them a deathly gray.

It was hard to tell if it was from fear or anger.

Everyone held their breath, waiting for the Ashford family’s reaction, waiting for my breakdown.

Sloane held her head high, waiting to see what fruit her desperate, last-ditch counterattack would bear.

However, the first person to explode wasn’t an Ashford, and it wasn’t me.

It was Blake.
