The Mafia Real Daughter’s Revenge Chapter 01

The Mafia Real Daughter’s Revenge Chapter 01

[Nora’s POV]

“I never thought your life would end up like this…”

A blood-soaked hand trembled as it reached up to cup my face.

“Back then, I wronged you. I gave your recommendation letter to Rachel.”

The man lying before me was barely holding on.

Nathan Vito.

Heir to the Vito crime family.

My former fiancé.

Ten years ago, Rachel had been welcomed back into the Moretti family, and overnight, I became the unnecessary daughter—the fake one.

That recommendation letter had been my only ticket into the prestigious Sicilian Academy, the elite school every mafia heir was expected to attend once in their lifetime.

Rachel took my place.

After I was cast out of the family, I ended up in a rundown Brooklyn apartment. I was assaulted by a stranger, gave birth to a child with severe cognitive disabilities, and survived by selling hot dogs from a street cart.

By the time I finally decided to end my miserable life beneath the wheels of a speeding truck—

Nathan appeared.

He lunged forward and shoved me out of the way.

A second later, his body was thrown through the air.

In the final moments of his life, he apologized.

“I’ve paid back what I owed you.”

Blood spilled from his lips.

“Don’t hate me anymore.”

“And in your next life… don’t fall in love with me.”

Warm blood splashed across my face.

The moment his hand fell limply to the ground, darkness swallowed me whole.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day everything changed.

…

An admission letter embossed in dark gold sat on the table.

Cheers echoed from the living room.

“Our Rachel is so incredible! I knew our daughter could hold her own against anyone!”

“Exactly! Her grades might not look impressive most of the time, but when it matters, she’s even better than her sister.”

Nathan’s laughter followed, overflowing with affection.

“The woman chosen by the Vito family deserves a place at Sicilian Academy.”

I stood alone at the corner of the hallway, forgotten by everyone.

With every word, my heart grew colder.

I had returned to ten years ago.

In my previous life, when I learned my recommendation letter had been stolen and Rachel had taken my admission spot, I had cried, screamed, and demanded the school investigate.

The moment I mentioned it, my parents completely changed their attitudes.

“What investigation?” My father, Lucius, had slammed his hand on the table. “Do you want every mafia family on the Upper East Side laughing at us?”

The result of my persistence had been simple.

They threw me out without a shred of mercy.

For three years, they never contacted me once.

Remembering Nathan’s confession before his death, I clenched my fists.

“Dad, Mom, don’t be like this.” Rachel turned toward me with a concerned expression. “Since Nora didn’t get accepted, maybe we shouldn’t hold my admission celebration.”

“No.” Lucius’s voice cracked like a whip. “Sicilian Academy is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for every mafia heir. Of course we’re holding it.”

Maria frowned as well.

“You’re too kind, sweetheart. You need to be more careful around certain people.”

Nathan’s cold eyes landed on me.

“Nora, are you seriously questioning the authenticity of an admission letter from Sicilian Academy?”

My nails dug deep into my palms.

I simply nodded.

“I’ll leave this family.”

The room fell silent.

“I won’t take another cent from any of you.”

All three of them froze.

Nathan frowned slightly.

“Rachel earned her place through her own ability. What’s the point of throwing a tantrum?”

A bitter laugh rose inside me.

Rachel?

The girl who skipped classes, slept through lectures, and spent every day partying?

What incredible ability.

Ignoring their suspicious looks, I turned and headed upstairs to pack.

I had barely taken a step when Rachel rushed over and grabbed my arm.

“Please, Nora. Don’t be angry. I’ll cancel the celebration if that’s what you want.”

I frowned and tried to pull away.

Suddenly, someone dug hard into my arm.

Before I could react, Rachel stumbled backward.

“Ah—!”

The next second, Nathan shoved me violently against the staircase railing.

A vase crashed to the floor. Shards exploded everywhere. One jagged piece buried itself deep in my palm.

I sucked in a sharp breath.

Nathan’s face darkened.

“Nora! How dare you push her?”

His voice dripped with fury.

“So this is what it comes down to. You’re jealous of Rachel.”

My parents immediately turned on me.

“If you have a problem, say it to us!” Lucius roared. “Taking it out on your sister? Is this what this family taught you?”

“Rachel has been through enough already. If anything happens to her, don’t expect me to forgive you.”

Tears instantly filled Rachel’s eyes.

“Dad, Mom, Nathan, stop! I just lost my balance.”

“Don’t blame Nora. She’s hurt—”

None of them listened. None of them even looked at my bleeding palm.

Panicked, they rushed Rachel out the door and sped off to the hospital, leaving me alone in a hallway littered with broken glass.
