Reborn: Getting Back My Real Son Chapter 07

“That’s it, you little brat. I’m calling your grandmother right now. If you sneak out in the middle of the night again, I’ll break your legs myself,” Nate scolded.

Phillip struggled wildly, shouting at the top of his lungs.

“Mom! I know you’re reborn too. Hurry up and explain it to Dad!”

I rolled my eyes so hard they nearly stuck, then opened the door and motioned for Nate to toss him outside.

‘You’re not my son. Why on earth should I deal with you?’ I thought.

Nate slammed the door shut. Phillip tried to push his way back in, only to get knocked backward by one of Axel’s punches.

That night, Judy apparently came to drag Phillip home. She was convinced I was trying to “steal her precious son” again and made a scene outside our door for hours.

Too bad for her, the soundproofing in our building was excellent. We didn’t hear a thing-and we slept like babies

Over the next few months, Phillip took every chance he could to sneak away and bother our family whenever Judy wasn’t watching.

At first, for the sake of our bond from the last lifetime, I held back. I didn’t embarrass him and always sent him away gently.

But things escalated.

One day, he actually waited for me outside Axel’s school.

That was the last straw. I couldn’t let him disrupt Axel’s life anymore, so I called the security guards and had him

removed.

“Cindy, you’re going to regret this!”

Dragged away by the guards, he dropped the obedient act entirely. His eyes were sharp with a viciousness no child should have.

“I don’t need your help. I’ll still start my own company. I did it in my last life; I can do it again in this one! You look down on me now-just wait. I’ll make you pay when the time comes!”

In his current tiny body, he looked like nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum. With all these people watching, I couldn’t even bring myself to argue with him.

I was about to head home, but realized Axel was standing still, staring in the direction Phillip had been dragged away. Anger simmered on his young face. When he turned back to me, his voice was solemn and steady.

“Mom, don’t be scared. If he ever comes after you, I’ll make him regret it.”

Hearing Axel speak with such conviction, my chest warmed. Raising a child all the way to adulthood—maybe it really was a kind of happiness.

I ruffled his hair, smiling.

“Silly boy. When that happens, just call the police. Fighting is your father’s job, not yours.”

With twenty-five extra years of memories, Phillip breezed through elementary and middle school, scoring perfect marks again and again. He became the star of the entire school.

Judy bragged endlessly that her son was a genius.

Our parents couldn’t hide their pride either.

Even Ronald-already cheating on my sister by then-sang his praises.

“He’s my son, alright. He’s basically a genius.”

His marriage to my sister was already an empty shell, held together only by this “genius” child.

My foolish sister had no idea that the husband she treasured so dearly already had an illegitimate son with

another woman.
