My Mafia Husband Smelled Like His Secretary, Who Turned Out To Be My Half-Sister Chapter 07

I went crazy.

I grabbed the worker’s shovel and started swinging at my father’s headstone.

People gasped. No one dared stop me.

Again and again. The stone didn’t even crack.

I was sobbing.

Then Jacob’s voice: “Polly! What the hell are you doing?”

Sophia stood next to him, staring at me with wide eyes. Like I was a monster.

I threw the shovel at them.

The metal edge cut his forehead. Blood beaded up.

Sophia screamed. Birds scattered from the trees.

His face went dark. I didn’t back down.

I walked up to him and jabbed his chest with my finger. “Jacob! You knew he killed my mother! How could you do this?”

I bit down to hold back the tears. But Sophia’s fell first. “My father knew he was wrong at the end. He just wanted to be with your mother. If you’re angry, take it out on me!”

“Enough!” I raised my hand. Jacob caught it.

Sophia cowered behind him.

“You think I’m going to let you hit her again?” Then he saw the scar on my palm. His voice softened a little.

“Let the past go. If you behave, you’ll stay the Donna. No one can touch that.”

My eyes were bloodshot. I looked at this man in front of me.

Any love I’d ever had for him was gone. Only hate was left.

“Jacob. First Anna gets hurt. Then you pull that crap with my mother’s grave. There’s no coming back from this.”

His grip loosened. His face went tight.

I walked away.

The cemetery worker told me that moving the grave now would require both spouses’ signatures.

I knew Jacob wouldn’t sign.

So I had to wait for the divorce.

But the Kavac elders wouldn’t agree to that. As long as they thought I was the best Donna, they’d block it.

I pressed my head against the steering wheel. My hand drifted down to my still-flat stomach.

An idea started forming.

Someone knocked on my window. Jacob frowned. His eyes went right to my hand on my belly. “Polly, are you sick?”

I sat up slowly. Both hands on the wheel. When I hit the gas, he stumbled back.

Sophia screamed. “Polly! Are you crazy? He’s the Don of the Kavac family!”

I didn’t look back.

On the drive to the estate, Jacob’s mother called.

She’d heard rumors. She wanted me to bring Anna to their villa.

The second Anna got out of the car, her grandparents swept her up.

The Kavac elders loved children. They doted on their only Principessa.

Later, after I finished telling them everything—yes, I’d filed for divorce—both of them frowned.

“Don’t worry. You will always be the Donna of this family. We will never let that woman take your place.”

“For Anna’s future, you need to think carefully. Divorce is not an option.”

When they finally stopped talking, I pulled the pregnancy report out of my bag.

Jacob’s mother gasped. Then clapped her hands. Her face lit up.

“Oh my God! This is wonderful news!”
