He Chose My Sister. I Went Cold. Chapter 13

“Freya, your sister knows she was wrong. She’s been crying at home until her eyes are swollen. She just wants to come apologize to you. You’re her big sister. You wouldn’t really hold this against her, would you?”

My mother sat beside my bed, her tone soft and maternal.

It only made me feel disgusted.

I looked at her face.

After only a few seconds, she was the first to look away.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Aren’t you tired?”

She froze.

“What do you mean?”

I smiled faintly.

“After acting for so many years, aren’t you tired?”

Her face and my father’s changed at the same time.

“You child, what nonsense are you talking about?”

I lifted a hand and pressed my fingers to my temple.

“You didn’t come here for me today, did you?”

Their expressions stiffened.

After a moment of awkwardness, a trace of hope appeared in their eyes.

But I didn’t give them a chance to speak.

“Whatever you want to say, I won’t help you.”

My mother immediately grew anxious.

“You can really watch your father’s company go bankrupt? Do you know how much pressure he’s been under lately?”

It was always like this.

Ever since I was brought back into this family, none of the good things ever involved me. But the moment there was a problem, I was the first person they thought of.
