Publicly Rejecting My Three Alphas to Choose the Real Alpha King Chapter 06 Belated Remorse

The Ancient Alpha King’s immense aura swept across the entire forest, crushing the pride and dignity Kael, Evan, and Reese had clung to for years.

I stood quietly at Kane’s side. My newly awakened bloodline gave me a cold, fierce bearing. The weakness and fear of the past three years were gone. I would never again be the fragile Omega they pushed around.

I held my own fate in my hands now. Watching the three men lose their composure below me, I felt nothing but emptiness and bitter absurdity.

They had looked away while I endured endless sleepless nights full of despair.

Now that I had broken free and been reborn, regret and panic finally crept into their hearts.

This remorse coming far too late was shallow and bitterly ironic.

Evan—always the gentle, cunning one—was the first to break.

“Lyra, we were fools—arrogant and blind.”

“We were far too harsh with you, keeping you confined and held down. Every wrong here is ours alone.”

Trapped in place by Kane’s overwhelming aura, he spoke in a pleading, desperate tone.

“Please come back to us. I truly know I was wrong. I will make up for every bit of kindness, respect, and love we denied you. Just don’t leave us forever.”

Evan’s surrender tore down the haughty front they’d put up for so long. Next came Kael—the hot-tempered, domineering one—who dropped his haughty stance and admitted defeat.

“I yield, Lyra.”

“I was consumed by power. I only used my strength to force you to submit. I never cared for you. I never understood you. I pushed away the only person who ever truly stayed by my side.”

His voice grew desperate as he scrambled to offer anything he could think of.

“I care nothing for power or dominance any longer. All our resources are yours—anything you want. I swear on my life: I will never use my Alpha dominance against you again. I will never let you suffer another wrong. Please come back.”

Last came Reese—the quiet, reserved one.

“Lyra, don’t go.” His eyes were bloodshot, his voice raw with desperate pleading. “I want nothing anymore—no power, no control, no possession. I give it all up. I just want you. I was cold, blind, and utterly selfish. I stood idle while you suffered.”

“Come back. Punish me for the rest of my life. I will gladly pay for what I did. Just don’t disappear from my world. Don’t leave me behind.”

One after another, they begged and pleaded—offering apologies, then their power, then a lifetime of penance.

I listened to their clumsy, desperate attempts to win me back, and I felt nothing. The whole scene was utterly ridiculous.

When their dominance crushed me and pain cut through my bones, they looked on with cold eyes. When the nobles mocked me and I stood alone with no one to turn to, they didn’t care. When I broke down in the middle of the night and suffered alone, they sat comfortably in their power, feeding on the strength my blood gave them, without a shred of compassion.

Now that I no longer needed their protection, they finally woke up—rushing to apologize, begging for forgiveness. But this belated remorse was the shallowest, most pathetic form of apology.

Seeing my cold, unmoving expression, Evan grew more frantic by the second.

“I know our words mean nothing right now. But we truly can’t live without you. Three years together—we’ve gotten so used to having you around. Just give us one chance to make things right. That’s all we’re asking for.”

Kael quickly backed him up. “We will announce your true bloodline to the entire pack. We will tear down every unfair rule and ranking in the pack. You will be the most respected person here—untouchable. We will give you the freedom, the respect, the love you deserve. I swear to the Moon Goddess—I will never trap or control you again.”

Reese fell silent. He fixed his bloodshot eyes on me, regret and twisted longing evident in every glance. He looked ready to spiral into despair if I turned him away.

Kane pulled me gently into his arms, blocking their desperate, miserable stares.

When he turned to face the three men, his eyes went cold and distant.

“Your wrongs can never be forgiven. Your pleas and empty regrets are worthless. You are not worthy of even a shred of her mercy.”

I looked coldly at the three men before me.

Every bit of remorse and humility they showed today was the bitter fruit of their own selfishness and cruelty over three long years.

From the moment I walked out of the Wolf Keep, your crimes are beyond absolution. They had lost everything. And there was no coming back.
