She Stops Fighting And Hands Her Husband Over To The Other Woman Chapter 05

Not until I felt myself floating in the air-

Not until I saw Julian frantically running toward the woman on the floor to take her into his arms-

Did I know that I had already left this world.

“Elena, Elena… Elena”””

Julian shook the woman’s body on the floor, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t wake her. He screamed her

name at the top of his lungs.

But the woman in his arms remained motionless.

Once he calmed down slightly, he looked closely at the woman before him.

One of her hands was clutching the fabric over her upper abdomen so tightly her knuckles were white: her face was set

in an expression of extreme agony.

The woman’s wide-open eyes stared blankly at the ceiling: he recoiled in fear.

A moment later, he stepped forward again and checked for her breath.

His hand jerked back:

“No, it can’t be… no! Elena! Elena!!!”

Dead? How could she be dead? It wasn’t possible.

He frantically grabbed his phone and dialed 911: “Dispatch, please, come quickly! My wife isn’t breathing! It’s an

emergency!”

After hanging up, he finally noticed Leo standing frozen on the spot.

Maya was already crying loudly nearby, her whole body shaking, tears and snot streaming down her face.

A wave of panic hit him like a bucket of ice water.

Why? Why did she cough up blood? She had no medical history… so why would she…

The pool of blood was real, and the body before him was real

He pulled his daughter into his arms.

“Maya,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady as he turned her tear-stained face to look at him Tell Daddy, what

happened to Mommy? Why was she coughing up blood just now?”

Maya’s eyes were unfocused, her teeth chattering as she spoke in fragments:

“Mommy Mommy was taking medicine… then… then she would hold this part

She mimicked her mother by clutching her abdomen, her expression twisting with fear-

“Then then she’d take more medicine… and then she’d throw up… so much blood..

The child was sobbing uncontrollably.

“Daddy, is Mommy dead? Is Mommy dead?!”

Medicine? What medicine?

So, she really was sick.

He suddenly remembered seeing a pill bottle fall out that day.

He remembered seeing her wince in pain, but he hadn’t taken it seriously then; he had been too busy being angry with

her.

He rushed into the maid’s quarters, rummaging through her meager belongings.

Finally, a small white pill bottle rolled out:

[Painkillers. Indication: Pain management for terminal cancer patients.]

Cancer? Painkillers?

He couldn’t believe his eyes.

Just then, there was a slight movement at the bedroom door.

Startled, he looked back to see that Cassie had followed him in.

She seemed terrified by the sight as well.

She was covering her mouth, eyes wide and face pale, with the same shock reflected in her gaze.

She quickly stepped forward to grab Julian: “What happened to her? Is she dead? Julian, don’t be sad…”

He glared at her with a piercing look, warning her to be quiet.

This foolish woman! If it hadn’t been to spite Elena, he wouldn’t have even spoken to her again!

He had only brought Cassie back to provoke Elena.

But now, it had turned into this….

Cassie seemed frightened by his look and took a half-step back.

She turned her head, her gaze lingering on the body on the floor before glancing quickly at the crying child.

Her lips twitched:

Julian, if she’s dead, we can finally be together openly

He looked at the woman in disbelief, unable to grasp that she could say such a thing at a time like this

He shoved her to the ground and uttered a single, cold word:

“Get out!”

Terrified, the woman didn’t dare say another word

Julian clutched the pill bottle and walked out of the maid’s quarters like a hollow shell.

His daughter was still shaking, screaming for her mother.

The body on the floor was growing cold, and the spilled blood was beginning to congeal.

Finally, the sound of sirens echoed outside the house.
