She Stops Fighting And Hands Her Husband Over To The Other Woman Chapter 01

When I was seven months pregnant with my second child.

That was when I caught Julian and his childhood friend, Cassie, entangled naked on the sofa.

After the premature birth, I filed for divorce without hesitation.

I moved into a dim, low-rent studio in the East End, washing dishes at a neighborhood diner to raise my daughter, Maya, until she was three.

The day I was diagnosed with late-stage stomach cancer, Julian showed up at my door again, begging me to come home.

“Our son is crying for his mother.”

“I’ve begged you so many times. Please, just come back with me.”

Recalling the doctor’s words—that I had only one month left to live—I immediately packed my clothes and followed Julian back home.

After I’m gone, I have to leave a way out for my daughter.

After receiving our remarriage license, I moved back into the Riverwood Estate.

This time, I became exactly who he expected me to be, never interfering with his privacy.

When he picked up a call from Cassie, I simply pretended not to hear, quietly walking away to give him space.

When our son, Leo, went out to play instead of practicing his hockey skills, I turned a blind eye.

When I saw him come home from a fight with his clothes torn and his face bruised, I calmly told him to go wash up.

Julian followed anxiously behind me:

“I told you, I’ve really cut ties with her. I’ve hardly spoken to her since that time.”

“She only called because my mother asked her to drop off some homemade casserole. I already turned her down.”

“I’ve deleted her on everything. Do you still not believe me?”

He tried to force his phone into my hand for me to check.

“It’s fine. I believe you. As long as you’re happy, don’t worry about me.”

“Just make sure you look out for our daughter.”

My voice was light, devoid of any emotion. He froze for a moment.

“Happy? Do you think I can be happy like this?”

“Since you came back, you’ve been so cold. Who could be happy?”

“Haven’t I always been like this? You’re overthinking.”

Julian suddenly lost it, slamming his phone onto the floor.

“It’s been three years! You’re back, and you’re still torturing me like this? What’s the point?”

Seeing I wouldn’t answer, Leo tugged at his torn sleeve:

“Mom, I got hit by the neighbor’s kid. Aren’t you going to talk to his parents?”

“Mom, I won’t cling to Auntie Cassie anymore. Can you please stop being like this?”

I simply gave a faint reply:

“Go take a shower…”

Julian bounded up from the sofa:

“What is wrong with you? Why are you making a scene?”

A scene? What scene was I making?

Before, when I screamed and fought, you and our son called me a psycho.

Now that I’m truly quiet, you claim I’m making a scene?

“I’m not making a scene. You all are living happily; isn’t that good?”

“Fine! Fine! Fine!”

Julian looked like a deflated balloon, slumping his head as he went back to his room.

I remembered how Julian used to say how pitiful Cassie was:

“She had bad luck with men and got divorced right after getting married. She’s struggling to raise her daughter alone.”

“We grew up together. I can’t stand to see her cry.”

Early the next morning, I contacted Cassie.

Since she’ll be moving in eventually, I’m counting on her to be a bit kinder to my daughter.

I’ll play matchmaker for them, then entrust my daughter to her.

“You’re actually calling me?”

Though Cassie was shocked, she came over quickly for a chance to see Julian.

I took her hand, speaking earnestly:

“I was wrong before. Since you and Julian are soulmates, I should step aside for you.”

Cassie’s face was full of surprise.

“My daughter is very well-behaved. As long as you’re good to her, that’s all I ask…”

Just as I finished, Julian returned with our son.

Seeing Cassie the moment he pushed the door open, his expression turned to shock, and he quickly explained:

“Elena, believe me, I didn’t ask her to come here.”

“I really haven’t been in touch with her.”

Hearing Julian’s distant tone, Cassie looked hurt:

“Julian, Elena was the one who asked me to come over.”

I patted Cassie’s hand. “I invited her.”

Julian grabbed Cassie, pulled her up, and ushered her out the front door.

“Take an Uber back for now.”

Closing the door, he took a deep breath, walked up to me with a dark expression:

“What is the meaning of this?”

“Elena, how much longer are you going to keep this up?”

“Why do you insist on torturing me like this?”

Torture again. Before, keeping you apart was torture. Now, actively setting you up is also torture?

I looked innocent, my tone flat:

“You’re overthinking.”

“You like her, your mother likes her, and our son likes her too.”

“You all wanted her to move in back then.”

“I was being difficult then, blocking you. I should have been more understanding of your feelings.”

I took out a box of Trojans and shoved it into his hand.

“I’ve already prepared this for you.”

“Don’t break her heart. Go get her back.”

Julian slammed the box onto the table.

Stepping forward, he grabbed my shoulders:

“Elena, how many times do I have to explain? After you left, I knew I was wrong. Why can’t you just let it go?”

“Can we just look forward and stop dwelling on the past?”
