My Husband Wants to Ruin Me? Fine—I’ll Just Team Up with His Mistress’s Ex! Chapter 02

I stared at Sean. He felt like a total stranger.

I took a step back.

“Go home?” I let out a dry laugh. “Go where? To our mortgaged house? Or to this mansion where you hide your mistress?”

Sean’s face went pale. “How do you know about the mortgage?”

“Guess. I own half of that company.”

He took a deep breath, trying to control his temper.

“Susan, we’ve been together for seven years. Don’t make this ugly. Go home. I’ll explain tonight.”

“Explain what? When you started sleeping together? Or how that kid got here?”

He shut his mouth, staring at me.

Just then, my phone buzzed.

A text from my bank: [Account Alert: $50,000 withdrawn.]

I froze. I hadn’t touched the money.

With shaking fingers, I opened the app.

Our joint account used to have over three million dollars.

Now, the balance was exactly thirty-two bucks!

“Did you steal our money?”

Sean frowned. “What money?”

“Our joint savings! Three million dollars is gone! There’s only thirty bucks left!”

“Susan,” Sean said, taking a guilty step forward. “Look, I know I messed up. But Vivian is different. She’s a single mom. It’s hard for her.”

“Hard for her?! What about me?!” I snapped.

“I ended up in the ICU and lost my baby because of your mother! I barely survived, and I still had to cook and clean for your parents! Was that easy?!”

Suddenly, Sean’s phone rang. It was my mother-in-law.

“Sean, honey? Are you, Vivian, and the baby coming over this weekend?”

I stared at Sean. Before he could react, I snatched the phone and cut in.

“Hi, Mom.”

The line went dead quiet for a second.

Then, she cleared her throat, instantly getting defensive.

“Well, since you know, Susan… Vivian’s smart, and she gave our family a grandson. Don’t take this the wrong way, but it’s been seven years and you’re completely barren. We can’t just let Sean’s family line end with you.”

I slammed the phone onto the concrete. I turned to leave.

“Stop throwing a tantrum!”

Sean grabbed my wrist, pulling me back.

“Everything you wear and eat comes from my pocket! You don’t have a job. You have no income. Where the hell are you going to go?”

Sean marched into the house and came back out with a stack of papers.

Divorce papers.

“Just sign it. I’ll give you fifty grand.”

“Fifty grand?!” I choked.

“You think that’s not enough? You haven’t worked in seven years. That three million was mostly my money anyway. I paid the down payment on our house. I paid the mortgage. What did you even do? Cook and clean? A maid can do that.”

“I gave up my career for you! I took care of your parents—”

“So what?” Sean cut me off. “I supported you for seven years. Vivian can help me with my business, and she gave me a son. Can you do any of that?”

“Babe?”

A woman’s voice cut us off.
