After Rebirth, My Rejecting Alpha’s Regret Chapter 02

After Rebirth, My Rejecting Alpha’s Regret Chapter 02

Ryan, who should have been the one to save me, stood by the pool without moving. He gazed tenderly at Faye, his face lit with the joy of something he thought he’d lost forever.

Faye didn’t notice. She grabbed his arm, urgency in her voice.

“Ryan, Stephanie can’t swim. Go save her!”

Ryan froze. He looked at me struggling in the water and frowned.

He moved to step forward, but I threw the heat inducer away and swam up on my own.

We never met each other’s eyes, but we both knew. We had both been reborn.

In the past life, Ryan pulled me out. I used a witch’s heat inducer to trigger his rut early.

He marked me in front of everyone. He lost any chance with his fated mate, Faye.

This time, none of us would make that mistake again.

When I climbed out safely, something dark flickered across Faye’s face. Just for a second. But my wolf caught it.

She slipped right back into her innocent act. “Stephanie, are you okay?”

She probed carefully. “When did you learn to swim?”

I just stared at her without speaking, amused by the flicker of panic in her eyes.

After all, she was the one who had taught me how to trap Ryan. She set up the whole drowning act.

She wanted to use me to reject her fated bond with Ryan so she could marry James White, Silver Moon’s strongest elite warrior.

Ryan never knew. His one true love, his fated mate, had loved someone else for a long time.

When Faye almost couldn’t hold her expression together anymore, I lowered my gaze.

“I don’t know. I just suddenly knew how to swim.”

People stared at me with mockery and curiosity. It felt like they were tracing the shape of my body with their eyes.

No one came forward to give me a towel or a jacket.

I wasn’t embarrassed. I was relieved.

I stood up and asked Rebecca, the Gamma’s wife and hostess of the party, “Could someone show me where I can change?”

Rebecca nodded easily.

It was the same trick they’d used before.

In the past life, after Ryan saved me, someone took me to change into servant’s clothes. The fabric was better than what I’d worn in my hometown.

I didn’t think it was a big deal. I wore it out.

And then the mockery came.

“A low rank she-wolf can’t become a leader, no matter how high she climbs. She looks better in that Omega outfit than she did in her designer dress.”

“Stephanie likes stealing other people’s identities. I guess stealing Omega clothes is no different.”

They wanted to anger me. They watched me go from confused to enraged.

I screamed, “I am the Moore family’s true daughter!”

But all I got in return was even worse humiliation.

Because after I came home, my biological parents publicly declared that I was just a stray they’d taken in. They didn’t want to upset Faye.

My anger and tears were just jealousy of Faye to them.

Right when I was about to lose control, about to destroy the whole party, Ryan saved me.

He shouted coldly, “Packs need to unite against outside enemies. But you’re uniting against a weak she-wolf in our pack. Maybe it’s time I reminded this pack of its place.”

His Alpha presence made everyone drop to their knees. No one dared mock me again.

His wolf soothed mine, and he took my hand. “I’ll take you home.”

Just those words. And I fell even harder.

This time, I looked at the exact same servant’s uniform.

I just shrugged. After I changed, I didn’t go back to the pool party. I went straight back to the Moore estate.

I had more important things to do. I wasn’t wasting time on those people.
