Breeder For The Morozov Alpha Brothers Chapter 13

DOM MOROZOV. 

I stepped out for a few minutes only to find her gone. Ten 

minutes later, I was watching shapeshifter blood being cleaned from my damn floors and no Laikyn in the house. 

Hours having had stretched by and I’m seated in my office, my eyes lingering outside. 

I’ve seen it rain a couple times in my life. 

Hell, I’ve seen the greatest floods charge in battle fields and 

yet none compares to this. None compares to the lightning that has struck the city and taken almost half of the crop fields. Good thing for the pack is they rely more on processed food 

including meat rather than the natural and organic. 

“A–Alpha Dom, it’s such a pleasure to finally meet you in 

person.” 

The beta staining my carpet with his dripping wet clothes is a 

great reminder why conversing with people let alone making 

contact with them irks me. 

I can’t fucking smell anything other than Laikyn yet I can 

smell the poor sod’s fear from where I’m standing. 

“Didn’t answer my question, buddy.” 

“R–Right. We had rain on the first month on the first day the full moon showed up. By my calculations, the next time we should have expected rain should have been by the end of next 

month.” 

I turn around, plopping in my seat. The weather man of our pack or whatever fancy shit he calls himself in nowadays turns 

paler. 

My scars have that effect on people. 

“How right have your calculations been so far?” 

He adjusts his glasses on his nose. 

“They’ve never been wrong, Sir. I mean Alpha.” 

“Until today“, I challenge. 

“I don’t know how to explain what is happening today. Wrath from the Goddess? A change in the…” 

“Got it. Thank you for your services.” 

“Of course, Alpha. Any question you might have, I’ll be here to answer it. It’s really such a pleasure to meet you Alpha Dom. The tales of your heroism have stretched-.” 

“Eugene?” 

“Yes, Alpha?” 

“Get out.” 

Grabbing his papers and briefcase, the little punk bows before 

me and a minute later he’s out of my office. 

I grab a bottle of liquor pouring myself one for the night. 

The downside of having no powers apart from no healing and all 

that jazz, is there’s the getting drunk part. Three glasses of alcohol and I’ll be out cold and on a day like this, I’ll need more than three glasses. 

I’m down to the first glass when the door is shoved open. 

Echo and Vuk grace me with their presence and I have just about two clues why they are here. 

“Who were they?” Echo grunts. 

Vuk raises a questioning brow at me and I’d care to explain if 

I wasn’t pissed about this shitty day altogether. 

“Don’t give me that fucking look, Dom. Vinn saw you there. You took everyone out“, Echo adds. 

“Wait. He was there when they attacked Laikyn? He’s–he got out of the mansion? He’s never taken a step out of here since-.” 

“What do you want to know, dear brother? That I killed a bunch of mercenaries sent by fucking shapeshifters or you purposely put her in danger?” 

Add the fact that those mercenaries were armed with wolfs bane and silver bullets and fighting my way through them was way harder. 

I killed them but that didn’t stop them from killing everyone in that restaurant. Everyone but her and Echo’s beta. 

Echo runs his hand in his hair. 

Vuk looks ta me with that guilt ridden face he’s carried since 

my accident and I hate it. 

“That was risky, Dom. You could have called us, we could have 

helped you.” 

“You think I can’t handle a gang on my own?” 

“No but-.” 

“I trained you four, Vuk. Powers or no powers, I’d take you four in a heartbeat.” 

I pour myself another glass and down it all in one go. One more glass and I’ll forget this conversation ever happened. 

“Vuk’s right. You being out was risky and I didn’t put her in danger because she needed clothes. She’s not a thing in case you haven’t noticed it yet, Dom. She needs her own clothes and space from all of us.” 

Space? I want to fucking chuckle. They took her and brought her here and they want to put pups in her. There’s no space as far 

as she’s concerned. 

“That’s what you gave her right? Space? Left her in a 

restaurant with too many eyes, too many ears. She was a sitting duck in that restaurant and she’d be dead if I didn’t follow 

both of you.” 

I’m almost drunk. I’m pissed off enough and my knuckles hurt 

like hell. What’s one more punch to the face from my baby 

brother? 

“Okay. Okay. Tensions are high. Today was a shitty day for 

everyone so if we could all calm down and quit acting like Niko 

when he’s obsessed with blood, that would be great.” 

“I went to see Dax“, Echo spits. His jaw ticks, his eyes boring 

hard into mine like he wants me to understand what’s 

happening. 

“Fuck“, Vuk mumbles. 

I don’t sit straight. I know they all know. Question is, do they suspect, what I suspect? 

“What did the junkie elf have to say?” 

“What do you think he said, Dom?” Vuk is the one to ask this 

time around. 

“I don’t know but I’m guessing it has to do with the reason why it started raining the minute they attacked Laikyn. Why the rain‘ s slowly coming to a stop because Riot and Nikolai are in bed 

with her.” 

The room falls silent. The last of the rain slowly guzzles down 

our roof. 

Echo looks at me, pissed and confused more than ever. Then he asks me the same question I’ve been asking myself since I came home in the middle of a storm. 

“What is she, Dom?” 

“I don’t know.” 

I have a feeling of what she is but saying it would be admitting the impossible. 

“The rain is because of her so we can rule out her being a 

werewolf from our fucking equation“, Vuk has the final word.

The door creaks loud enough to wake everyone in the mansion but not loud enough to wake the little thing wrapped between two men who are way too huge for her. 

I make it to the bed in five strides. 

Nikolai has one of his hands wrapped around her tummy. Riot, 

the fucking fuck, has his hand on her cheek and his eyes wide 

awake staring at Laikyn. 

Solnyshko looks so calm in her sleep, I almost want to join her 

in that bed too. 

“You calling dibs on her every night doesn’t apply right now, 

Dom“, Riot whisper–warns. 

“Came to say goodnight“, I lie. 

“Yeah? Goodnight, Dom.” 

“How…how is she?” 

“You care about our breeder, Dom?” Riot chuckles. I want to rip 

that grin off his face. 

“She saw blood for the first time. Of course she was spooked to death. Spooked enough to hail rain and thunder from the skies“, Riot continues. 

“Riot.” 

She could hear him and I don’t think our little breeder knows what she is yet. 

“I don’t really care what you, Echo and Vuk spoke about. All I know is, she needs to be trained. We won’t always be there to protect her and we don’t know the extent of her powers.” 

I want to say something. 

I want to take her but all I can do is agree to everything Riot says. I can’t have her in danger. I just… I can’t and I have no reason why.

Training was a bad idea. 

They started training Laikyn as soon as she woke up the next day. They brought her back from the servants‘ quarters too since she was attacked and her scent is all I’ve been craving. 

I’ve been keeping my distance from her. Smelling her from afar. Smelling her on my sheets. 

Today, she’s learning how to spar and her sparring partner is 

none other than Nikolai, the worst man she could have chosen to fight against. 

Laikyn throws a few punches; they do nothing to Niko but when Niko charges at her like a fucking maniac I’m on my wit’s end 

trying to barely keep it together. 

One minute I’m locked in my library spying like a child locked 

in his tower and the next minute I’m taking the stairs two at a 

time, ignoring the shocked gasps from Esme and Esma somewhere in the kitchen and making my way to the training grounds. 

I don’t see shit as I make my way to Nikolai who is on top of Laikyn by now. 

My mind barely registers that I’m out in the open in the middle of the day as I yank Nikolai from what’s mine and punch him hard on the jaw. 

“What the-.” 

Nikolai is barely standing when I land another punch on his smug face sending him to the ground. 

Once he’s on the ground, hell it’s me versus him, raging anger and possession versus the deranged smile he gives me. 

Four punches in, have my mind running like mad. Like I wanted and needed this from the very beginning. Like I’m finding an outlet to everything I couldn’t release yesterday. 

“Dom! Dom stop!” 

A small hand lands on my shoulder. It takes less than a second to recognize her. 

Nikolai spits blood on the grass laughing like crazy. 

I get away from the mess. I turn around which is short of 

nothing but a big mistake. 

Blue eyes, clearer, wetter, pretty against the sun, stare at me. Surprise? Anger? I can’t tell what’s running in them. 

Wind blows the small tufts of hair that have somehow escaped from her ponytail across her face and I raise my hand ready to tuck the stray locks behind her ear. 

I’m aware we have company. 

I’m aware she’s seeing my face, my scars for the first time but that doesn’t stop me from seeing the blood from the cut on her 

lip. 

That doesn’t stop me from breaching the gap between us, holding her chin and sucking her blood from her torn lip. 

And the minute I taste her blood, I sign my own death sentence.
