I didn’t understand. 

If Andrew knew nothing, then why did he kill himself? 

Wasn’t he determined to be with that woman? 

If he died, what would happen to her? 

“What exactly happened?” 

I grabbed my mother’s arm, demanding answers. 

“When did Andrew kill himself? What happened that day?” 

My mother looked at me, her eyes brimming with tears. After several seconds, she sighed. 

“He killed himself the same day you had your car accident.” 

At those words, I was even more confused. 

“Why? Tell me. What happened that day?” 

My mother glanced at my father. After exchanging a look, they finally told me everything that had happened. 

“That day, when you tried to drive away, that woman suddenly rushed forward and stood in front of your car. Do you remember?” 

My body went rigid, and the scene from that day flooded back. 

I’d been desperate to leave. 

As I slammed on the gas, I’d caught a glimpse of a figure darting in front of my car. 

In a panic, I’d swerved hard, crashing into the tree on the side 

of the road. 

So the crash wasn’t an accident. It was that woman, on 

purpose? 

But why? 

If I hadn’t turned the wheel in time, she could have been killed 

instantly. 

Bewildered, I pressed on. 

“Then what?” 

My mother sighed, speaking slowly. 

“When that woman saw you crash, unconscious, she went 

completely mad. I saw it clearly. She looked at Andrew, pale as 

a sheet, then at you, gravely injured.” 

“Suddenly, she gave a knowing smile. And she said, ‘No. This can’t go on anymore.“” 

My heart skipped a beat. 

My mother’s voice began to shake. 

“Andrew was stunned by her sudden actions. He was about to 

step forward and say something, but the woman beat him to 

it.” 

“She rushed to your car, picked up a shard of broken 

windshield from the ground, and in front of everyone, drove 

that sharp, long piece of glass straight through her own 

heart.”
