Three Mate Candidates Dumped Me For An Omega Chapter 01

My name is Sloane Silvermoon. When I shift, I gain one curse and one strange gift.

The curse is that I will never know who my mate is.

The strange gift is this: my soul-link sometimes connects to a channel that does not belong to my pack–or even to my world.

But every time, they are right.

Today, when I raised the silver training whip again in front of my three Alpha candidates, my weird soul-link stirred.

It sounded like a crowd of strangers whispering inside my head.

[Sloane is so pathetic. She probably has no idea these three candidates do not even want her. They only stay because her face looks almost exactly like their precious Omega Ruby.]

[Please. The Alpha candidates are the pitiful ones. They get dragged into her temper every day and still have to pretend they enjoy being near her.]

[Do not worry. Ruby is coming back to Silvermoon soon. Once she returns, all three candidates will reject that vicious Sloane.]

…..

The last words made my hand stop in midair.

The training hall fell silent.

Kael Nightborne, who had been kneeling closest to the practice line, lifted his head first.

His dark hair was damp from the heat of the room, and the old silver collar around his throat caught the light.

He had always carried himself like a prince even when he had nothing left but a ruined name.

Silas Greymark sat by the low table, fingers still resting on a silver grape knife, his pale scholar’s face unreadable.

Flynn Blackwood, the youngest and wildest of the three, had already been half-risen, as if one more word from me would make him bare his teeth.

All three of them were Alpha-blooded.

All three had entered Silvermoon Manor willingly.

All three had once told me they would rather stay by my side than return to the people who had abandoned them.

And now a group of voices inside my head told me they were only here because of Ruby.

I lowered the whip.

“Leave, ” I said.

The three Alpha candidates froze at the same time.

Flynn’s amber eyes widened. “What?”

“You heard me. All of you. Leave.”

Silas’s fingers tightened around the grape knife.

He was always the calmest one, the one who could turn any argument into a soft lecture and make it sound like concern.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Get out!”

I did not hesitate for even a second.

For once, Silas had no answer.

He only stared at me, as if I had suddenly spoken in a language he did not understand.

The steward standing near the door also looked shocked, but he had served my grandmother before he served me. A Silvermoon order was still an order.

He bowed and stepped forward. “Lady Sloane, shall I have their rooms packed?”

“Yes. Send their things wherever they want them sent.”

Flynn slammed the crystal pitcher onto the table so hard that juice splashed across the white cloth.

“Who cares?” he snapped. “You think we cannot live without you?”

He stormed toward the door, then turned back when Kael still had not moved.

Kael’s eyes stayed on me.

“According to your schedule, ” he said, voice cold and controlled, “tomorrow was my turn to serve you.”

I shook my head. “I will not be seeing anyone tomorrow.”

Flynn gave a sharp, mocking laugh. “Good. Rest, then. Just not tomorrow. Try forever.”

He grabbed Kael by the sleeve and dragged him out.

Silas followed last. Before he crossed the doorway, he looked back once.

There was disappointment in his eyes.

No. Not disappointment.

Judgment.

As soon as they were gone, the invisible channel erupted again.

[She is trying a new trick. So obvious.]

[The candidates will receive Ruby’s return notice soon. Sloane’s good days are over.]

[Ruby was the old Alpha’s favorite girl. Some stolen things always have to be returned.]

I sat down slowly.

I had listened long enough to recognize the pattern.

From their perspective,

I was apparently the vicious stepmother, and sweet Omega Ruby Hale was Cinderella.

The Alpha candidates were the male leads.

And I, Sloane Silvermoon, the actual blood heir of Silvermoon Pack, was the villainess who would eventually lose everything.

It all sounded like a great story.

But one thing though.

The voices in my soul-link believed the three candidates were far above me.

One was an exiled Alpha prince from a northern territory.

One was the youngest son of Blackwood, a warrior pack that still ruled half the western trade road.

One was a genius strategist from the old Greymark line, a pack whose votes could move the Elder Council.

That was what the strangers saw.

What they didn’t know was that there was even a fourth name in the Council files: Soren Vale, an Alpha candidate assigned to the border and rarely seen in the manor.

The elders liked to say his voice carried weight in every council room.

Noble blood. Bright futures.

Proud wolves.

I was never out of options.

What made it even funnier was what they did not see: I met all of them when they were at their lowest.

Because after my first shift, I learned that I would never be able to scent my mate, I developed severe bipolar disorder. Men triggered me, and whenever my emotions spiked, I lost control.

Since that was the case, my sister simply told me to keep a few men around to vent my emotions.

That’s how I found Silas Greymark.

The first time I met Silas, he was standing beyond the railing, coat fluttering in the wind, one step away from the frozen river.

I saw him disappear.

I did not think. I shifted halfway, claws tearing through my gloves, and jumped after him.
