Design Rings for My Alpha’s Mistress? Oops. I Designed His Exile Instead Chapter 01

Design Rings for My Alpha’s Mistress? Oops. I Designed His Exile Instead Chapter 01

As a jewelry designer, I never imagined I’d be crafting my Alpha’s wedding rings… again.

On our mating anniversary, I received a commission to design a ring for my husband, Ronan Blackthorn.

Seeing his name appear in my appointment book, I couldn’t help but smile. Classic Ronan-always full of surprises.

But the next second, a delicate, pretty young woman walked into my office. Her eyes held that soft, flirtatious quality as she shyly handed me a sketch.

My mate’s handwriting.

“Ms. Ashmore? I booked an appointment online.”

“I need a pair of custom rings. My boyfriend’s rejection of his bond wraps up at the end of the month. I’m hoping we can get them done before then.”

I loosened my clenched fist and gestured for her to continue.

“My boyfriend’s name is Ronan Blackthorn. I want his name engraved inside the band.”

“Wolfsbane flowers are his favorite-eternal devotion and all that. I want those on the ring.”

Staring at those painfully familiar details on the sketch, I let out a cold laugh.

What a cruel joke.

I had to learn my own mate’s so-called “favorites” straight from his mistress’s mouth.

Rings are supposed to symbolize the unbreakable mate bond.

But here’s the truth, Ronan Blackthorn-your designer, your soon-to-be REJECTED mate?

I’d rather watch you lose everything! Your pack! Your Alpha status! Every shred of honor!

And ROT IN HELL!

I set down the sketch and looked up, studying the girl across from me.

Soft, gentle demeanor. Not bold and striking like me-more understated, submissive.

Young. Still had that naive, sheltered omega look about her.

Seemed like a decent person. Clearly raised with some sense of right and wrong.

When she mentioned the delivery timeline, her voice wavered slightly. Her eyes darted away.

She knew what she was doing violated every law of our kind.

Maybe sensing my gaze, she rushed to explain.

“Ms. Ashmore, please don’t misunderstand.”

“My boyfriend’s situation is… complicated. His fated mate is in prison for financial crimes against the pack. He didn’t want to kick her while she was down, so he’s been putting off the formal rejection.”

She said it with such sincerity, every word dripping with admiration and pity for that Alpha.

Prison?

What a convenient story.

Too bad the one she’s slandering is sitting right in front of her-and I’m no criminal, just a Luna who nearly died protecting what was mine.

I nodded slightly, a cold smile tugging at my lips.

“Ms. Ashwood, right? Mind telling me your love story?”

She blinked, clearly confused.

Of course powerful Alphas go for the young, easy-to-control omega type.

I tapped the sketch on the table.

| “Just these few elements? The ring would turn out far too basic.”

“If you share some meaningful moments between you two, I can work those into the design.”

Faye finally caught on, her face lighting up with a shy smile.

And then she started gushing about their forbidden romance.

I listened like some kind of masochist, my professional smile barely holding.

“Tomorrow marks two full years together. I first met him at the Council Hall-something happened to his pack, and

he was there filing a report. He looked so devastated. I happened to be there and offered a few comforting words”

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her cheeks flushing pink.

“We ran into each other a couple more times after that. Felt like the Moon Goddess’s doing. A week later, I confessed my feelings, and he accepted me.”

Every sweet little memory felt like silver poisoning my veins, burning through my chest.

“Tomorrow’s your anniversary?”

“Wait-how did you know that?”

Her eyes went wide, shock written all over her face.

I lowered my gaze, hiding the agony.

How could I not know?!

Two years ago, the day after our mating anniversary, I was kidnapped on my way to visit the Silverwood Pack for a diplomatic meeting.

Around the time they were “meeting by fate,” I was probably locked up in some rogue hideout on the outskirts of our territory.

Ronan made too many enemies as Alpha. They came after his Luna to get to him.

I nearly died. And I lost the pup I was carrying-our heir.

But now my suffering became the romantic backdrop for their love story.

My knuckles went white from clenching my fists. I looked up at her.

“Ms. Ashwood, it’s very touching. But at that time, his fated mate wasn’t in prison yet, was she?”

,”Well…”

Her smile froze for a second. Then she scrambled to defend herself.

“No, not yet. But their bond was already broken by then. Just hadn’t done the formal rejection ceremony.”

“Ms. Ashmore, you understand, right? In the mate bond, the one who isn’t truly loved is the real outsider.”

I forced the corners of my mouth upward, my voice flat and cold.

“Of course.”

Chose to be a homewrecker, huh?

Apparently taking that as approval, she kept going, even more excited now.

“Oh, and he loves pups. But his fated mate can’t bear children anymore.”

“Can you believe how selfish some she-wolves are? Can’t be a mother herself, but still clings to her Alpha, robbing him of his chance to have heirs. Thank the Goddess I was there to give him what he always wanted.

As she spoke, her hand drifted down to rest protectively on her stomach.

My eyes followed the movement.

“You’re carrying his pup?”

I heard myself ask, my wolf howling in anguish inside me.

She smiled, all shy and glowing with that omega radiance.

“Ms. Ashmore, you noticed?”

“Two months along. Please keep it between us, okay? I want to wait until after he severs the mate bond to announce it. I don’t want my pup labeled a bastard or called ‘the Alpha’s shame’ the second it’s born.”

“Sure.”

I agreed easily. But my eyes had gone ice-cold, my wolf snarling for blood.

Ronan and I? Childhood friends. Arranged mating since we were pups.

Also childhood rivals.

Our packs-Blackthorn and Ashmore-had been allies for generations. Everyone expected us to hate the

arrangement.

But right when our families were starting to think we’d never work out and were about to call off the bond?

We somehow… clicked. Our wolves recognized each other as true mates.

So we stumbled into the mating ceremony, half confused, half willing, but certain the Moon Goddess had blessed

our union.

Everyone worried we’d crash and burn.

But after the marking. Ronan changed completely.

Devoted. Loyal. Put me first in everything-as his Luna, his mate, his equal.

Even the other pack Alphas teased him-said he turned into a total “mate-whipped Alpha”.

After I lost our pup and the pack healer told me I could never carry again, Ronan held me through the night and whispered:

“Seraphina, we don’t need heirs. Just us. We’ll lead this pack together until we’re old and gray.”

It sounded so perfect. I didn’t question it.

After all, Ronan was the only heir to the Blackthorn Alpha bloodline. His pack needed successors.

But the very next day? He went to the pack doctor and got a vasectomy.

“I meant what I said,” he told me. “You’re enough.”

I thought I was blessed enough to find my true mate, my fated Alpha.

Never imagined the whole thing was an elaborate lie from the start.

Ronan didn’t reject fatherhood.

He just didn’t want pups with me.

I forced a smile, using every ounce of control I had left to keep my wolf from surfacing.

“Understood, Ms. Ashwood. I have everything I need. The rings will be ready by the agreed date.”

Faye smiled and nodded, completely oblivious.

“Thank you so much. Oh, one more tiny thing.”

“Everything I told you today? Please don’t let it get out. My Alpha’s already decided on the rejection, but if word spreads early, it’ll just cause unnecessary pack drama.”

“From what he’s told me, his fated mate is kind of… unstable. Aggressive. Not really Luna material, you know?”

I nodded with perfect understanding, my wolf screaming for her throat.

“Don’t worry.”

I watched her figure disappear down the hallway. Then I pulled out my phone and called my best friend, Brielle

Harper.

She’s a seasoned divorce attorney and pack law specialist. Also my home pack’s legal advisor.

“Ronan’s betrayed our bond. Dig up every move he’s made over the past two years.”

“And tell my mother-any project the Blackthorn Pack has that involves Ashmore Pack funding or support? Pull it. All of it. Effective immediately.”

I hung up and gently traced the mating band on my ring finger.

Ronan Blackthorn.

You chose betrayal over our sacred bond.

So everything you built on my pack’s support, my family’s connections, my devotion?

I’ll tear it all down until there’s nothing left but ashes!
