The Forgotten Princess of the Pack Chapter 03

Mom received the custom necklace and gently fastened it around Vivienne’s neck.

Dad suddenly seemed to remember something. “We should buy one for Felicity too. Just to placate her.”

Grayson frowned. “These are all custom pieces. We didn’t place an order for her in advance. How are we supposed to buy one?”

Dad replied casually, “There’s a gold shop at the entrance of the mall. Just get her a gold necklace.”

Grayson chuckled. “Sure. Felicity is so money-obsessed anyway. Gold is universal currency. She’ll definitely love it.”

At that moment, Vivienne hesitated before speaking. “Grayson, I don’t think that’s a good idea. Felicity is already very vain at school. If we buy her something that expensive, won’t that just make her even more materialistic?”

Vivienne’s words were immediately echoed by Mom. “You’re right. That kind of habit can’t be encouraged. Then what do you think we should buy for your sister?”

“Doesn’t Felicity like rabbits? Then let’s buy her a rabbit hair clip. I passed a jewelry store earlier that happened to sell them.”

“All right. We’ll do as Vivienne says.”

As soon as Mom finished speaking, her phone rang.

When I heard Aunt Beatrice’s voice from the other end, I froze.

Her voice was thick with congestion, trembling as though she was forcing herself to stay calm.

“Helena, where are you?”

At the sound of her voice, I could no longer hold back. I broke down, sobbing.

But no one could hear me.

I had returned to the Silverclaw Pack for two years.

Only Aunt Beatrice, no matter what, had always stood firmly on my side.

She trusted me. She loved me.

I didn’t want to die at all. I wanted to grow up properly, to earn a lot of money on my own, and give her a comfortable life.

She was a strong woman. Even though her life was difficult, she had never once reached out to her sister Helena, the Luna, for money.

Instead, she often secretly stuffed cash into my hands, telling me to buy something I liked.

We were both princesses of the Silverclaw Pack.

Vivienne received one hundred thousand a month just in allowance, while I only had five hundred dollars.

That, too, was Vivienne’s suggestion.

“Going from frugal to luxurious is easy,” she had said. “I don’t think Felicity should develop the habit of spending money recklessly.”

I was already insecure back then. Standing in front of Vivienne, I felt like a scrawny, dark-feathered ugly duckling.

At the school we attended, where all the students came from Alpha families, people said all kinds of things.

Illegitimate child. Maid’s daughter. Adopted orphan.

Vivienne would always step in with a troubled expression. “Don’t talk nonsense. Blood relation or not, she’s still my sister.”

We were clearly twins, yet because I hadn’t been fed properly as a child, my growth was delayed. My features hadn’t fully developed either.

Even so, there were moments when we still looked alike.

And yet, no one ever believed we were real sisters.

…

“Felicity… how could Felicity be so pitiful?”

Aunt Beatrice finally broke down, her voice turning shrill as she sobbed. “If you don’t want her, then give her to me. If you won’t raise her, I will.”

“Why… why did you have to kill her like this? Helena, come back. Come back and look at Felicity!”

Her voice collapsed completely.

For the first time, my soul felt grounded.

I fell to my knees, clutching my chest tightly.

Grayson snatched the phone from Mom’s hand. “Aunt Beatrice, can you stop playing along with her act? How many times has this happened? Every single time, you take her side. Am I and Vivienne not your family too?”

“She made Vivienne have an allergic reaction. What’s wrong with keeping her in the basement for two days?”

“Grayson!” Aunt Beatrice screamed. “How can you say something like that? She’s your real sister!”

“She’s dead. Felicity is dead! Her whole body turned purple from suffocation. She bit through her own tongue. Her mouth was full of blood. Grayson, how can you be so heartless?”
