Amnesia Erased Luna’s Pain and Love Chapter 21

Amnesia Erased Luna’s Pain and Love Chapter 21 After She’s Gone

When Baldwin returned home again, the entire house was silent-eerily so. Not a single sound. Not a single soul.

The cold air inside clung to the faint trace of Florence’s perfume.

It still lingered, just like her presence once had. Before, even though he rarely came home, she was always there waiting.

She would look at him with those warm, hopeful eyes, and just a glance from him was enough to make her happy for days.

But now, the house without her felt hollow and cold.

Every room, from the bedroom to the study to the bathroom, had been carefully arranged by her.

Back then, she had asked him to go furniture shopping together, but he brushed her off, saying he was busy.

When he returned, everything had already been perfectly set up.

She knew every inch of that home, down to the smallest detail.

But now, everything was still in its place-except for the person who had made it feel like home.

Even though he had already searched the house, Baldwin couldn’t shake the feeling that she might’ve left something behind-some clue, some sign-anything he could use to find her.

Trembling, he began tearing through the place again.

The closet, behind the desk, even in the cracks of the door-everywhere.

By the end of it, the house was in chaos, but there was still no trace of her.

Finally, he collapsed onto the messy bed, searching through the tangled sheets like a man drowning. But there was nothing.

A sharp, piercing ache stabbed at his heart-as if a thousand silver needles were driving into him all at once.

He realized, with a cold and crushing clarity, just how determined she had been to leave.

Baldwin had imagined a hundred different reactions she might have had when he proposed

breaking the mate bond. Maybe she would cry, scream, or even try to end her life.

But none of that happened.

In the end, she did just one thing.

She quietly drank the potion, severed the bond completely, and left him behind.

Baldwin didn’t sleep a wink that night.

The next day at the office, his beta assistant was waiting at the door. “Alpha, the meeting at three-”

“Cancel it,” Baldwin cut him off, rubbing his temples.

From the corner of his eye, he noticed the assistant hesitate. “Just say it,” he muttered.

“Alpha, you’ve been very concerned about Luna’s whereabouts lately, but before this…”

The beta didn’t finish.

Baldwin stood by the massive floor-to-ceiling window, his brow furrowed.

“Was I really that awful to her?”

“No offense, Alpha-but yes. You rarely paid attention to how she felt, and you never let anyone else bring her up, either.

“But she remembered everything you liked and disliked. Even things you mentioned in passing-she’d never forget.”

Memories came crashing in. One night, while he was dealing with pack business, she brought him warm milk. Agitated, he shoved it aside, and the scalding liquid splashed across her hand.

She said nothing, only wiped it away quickly and brought him another glass.

On their third anniversary, he had spent the entire night with Ursa, celebrating her birthday. When he finally returned home near dawn, he found Florence still waiting, a custom cake sitting untouched on the table.

He shot to his feet, the chair screeching loudly against the floor.

Crossing the office, he stopped in front of the window and stared down at the street far below. His throat tightened.

She had always been patient with him.

But all he could see back then was Ursa.

:

Suddenly, his phone rang. A message came in from the private detective.

The last trace of Florence led to flight CA7949. The destination was Hegreau. Beyond that, she had vanished.

Baldwin’s hand trembled around the phone. Now he understood the dull ache in his chest that day in the garage, when he had first seen severed mate bond agreement.

It was the panic of losing something only after realizing its worth.

“Alpha?”

The assistant’s voice came from behind him.

“Put everything on hold,” Baldwin said, his voice low but firm. “I’m going abroad.”

The sharp look in his eyes startled the assistant.

He grabbed his jacket and strode toward the elevator. “Book me the fastest flight to Hegreau. Immediately.”

As the elevator doors began to close, Baldwin stared at his own reflection in the polished mirror-tired, hollow-eyed, unrecognizable.

He used to believe Florence would always wait for him at home. But now, he finally understood-even the purest love can wither under neglect.

When the elevator reached the underground level, a sharp pain twisted in his chest. He remembered the last unread message from Florence.

This time, it was his turn to go find her.
