My Husband Died Twice And Both Times He Lied Chapter 10

He sobbed as he tried to explain. 

“Maya lied to me. She told me you didn’t love me anymore. She said you had fallen for someone else and slept with him. I was angry, so I deliberately stayed away with her and kept you in the dark for three years. I only wanted you to regret it. But I never expected Maya to get drunk and climb into my bed. I was a bastard, and I had a child with her.” 

“Evelyn, if I could do it all over again, I would never be that stupid. I swear I wouldn’t. You’re alive. Thank God you’re 

alive. I know you won’t forgive me. Over the past six months, 

I’ve figured out so much. As long as you come back, I don’t 

want anything else. I only want you.” 

I calmly pushed him away. 

“Let’s eat.” 

He thought I had changed my mind. Excited, he filled my plate 

and served me dinner. 

What he did not know was that this was our farewell dinner. 

After we finished eating, I quietly went downstairs and sat in the car, watching as Gavin ran down in panic. 

“Evelyn! Are you leaving? Didn’t you promise we would settle down and make a life together?” 

At first, I drove very slowly. 

Gavin jogged after me step for step. 

Then I sped up, faster and faster, pressing harder on the gas. 

He gradually broke into a desperate run. He ran until he was gasping for breath. He fell three times along the way, scraping 

his knees raw, but I did not stop for even a second. 

All of this was not even one–thousandth of what I had gone through when he threw my child into the trash. 

Later, I stopped and heard his hoarse, heartbroken cry behind

“Evelyn, you can’t be this cruel!” 

I scoffed. 

After betraying me and making himself so filthy, what right 

did he have to ask me to turn back? 

I administered the latest treatment from my research to my parents, and they soon recovered from their ischemic strokes. I also became a rising star in medicine. 

Now, they simply spend their retirement at home raising Maya and Gavin’s child. 

As for Maya, she spent several years in prison. After she was 

released, she could not find work and was too ashamed to face 

her child, so she left the country and worked under the table 

wherever she could. 

In the end, the world was bright and warm, and my future 

shone even brighter.
