Regret of Two Alphas: I Married the Lycan King Chapter 07

Regret of Two Alphas: I Married the Lycan King Chapter 07

Roderick treated me well.

In the first few days after the wedding, he treated me like I was made of glass, careful not to let me

out of his sight.

Even my mom couldn’t stand watching it.

Everyone wondered why Roderick had been so eager to form a mate bond with me.

My family’s pack had some assets, but compared to Roderick, it was nothing. It wasn’t exactly a

business merger.

I asked Roderick the same question, but he always kept it vague, sometimes even a little annoyed.

Then one day, I found a photo album in his study.

It was filled with pictures of me growing up, including many I had never even seen before.

My jaw dropped. “You had a crush on me?”

Roderick’s breath caught. The tips of his ears turned pink.

He pulled me into his arms and said softly, “Yeah. We competed in a contest together in elementary school. After it ended, I wrote you a letter. You never wrote back.”

I thought about it. That letter was tucked away in the secret compartment of one of my books.

I remembered it clearly. There was only one sentence, with a little smiling face drawn next to it.

(Hope we can be good friends.]

But I didn’t find that letter until three years later. By then, I had no way to contact him.

Roderick continued. “Later, in middle school, your school had a calisthenics competition. I never liked those, but I knew you would be there, so I joined. I trained for three months. I still didn’t get to

see you.”

That day, I had a stomachache and went home early.

Roderick went on and on. All through his school years, he had tried to get close to me.

I knew how amazing he was. I never imagined he would wait for me.

I had crushed the feelings that once bloomed in my heart.

When we entered the same university, Roderick thought he could finally make up for lost time.

But by then, I already had Evander and Jareth by my side.

So we kept missing each other. But now, we were together.

I got updates from friends in the Ravencrest Pack.

Arwen had already messed up several contracts. She acted high and mighty, making everyone in the pack complain endlessly.

I knew that even if Evander and Jareth didn’t like Arwen anymore, they wouldn’t fire her.

Because Arwen had taken credit for several contracts I had landed for the pack.

I once drank so much I ended up in the hospital. When I woke up, everyone in the pack was saying

Arwen was the real hero.

That kind of thing happened all the time. That was why they had grown so close to her so quickly.

But I was curious. Without me, how would Arwen keep up her “hero” act.

When Jareth flew over to beg Mr. Starling for mercy, Roderick and I were sitting in the booth next to

him.

Jareth rambled, “Mr. Starling, this was Arwen’s first mistake. Could you give us another chance?”

“Last time, you approved the contract because of her, didn’t you?”

Mr. Starling frowned. “Arwen? Who’s that? She doesn’t have any sway with me.”

Jareth was stunned. “Then last time…”

At the mention of it, Mr. Starling got excited. “You know, there’s a girl in your pack named Valeria. I insisted on going hiking that day, even though she said the weather was bad and we shouldn’t go.”

“But I’m stubborn. We went anyway, and sure enough, a storm hit.”

“The mountain was steep. Valeria managed to find a car and made sure we left first. She said her alpha friends would come get her. She really knew how to take care of things.”

“Did you pick her up?”
