Regret of Two Alphas: I Married the Lycan King Chapter 06

Arwen came running from the entrance. She grabbed Evander and sobbed, “Evander, don’t hurt yourself. I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”

“I shouldn’t have joined you. I thought the four of us could be great friends.”

“I never thought Valeria would get married just to spite us.’

Jareth couldn’t stand hearing Arwen apologize. He pulled her into his arms. “Arwen, this isn’t your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong. Evander and I hurt Valeria. It has nothing to do with you.’

“You’re too kind. Even now, you’re still taking the blame for us.’

I ignored their over-the-top display of sentiment.

I stared straight at Arwen. “You said I forced you into a mate bond. Fine, now tell me, who did I find for you, and where does he live?”

Arwen looked at me with defiant eyes. She pulled several printed screenshots from her bag. “Valeria, do you really have to humiliate me like this?”

“Fine. I’ll show you.”

“These are chat logs with that man. You claimed you wanted to send me off to the mountains. And here’s the bank statement showing the hundred thousand dollars you took from him.”

Arwen spoke with such conviction.

If I didn’t know I was innocent, I might have believed her myself.

Jareth stood up, stunned. “Valeria, were you trying to sell Arwen?”

Evander, always meticulous, kept looking back and forth between me and Arwen. He didn’t say anything. He wasn’t convinced.

Arwen threw herself into Jareth’s arms. “Jareth, I didn’t want to tell you. I didn’t want to ruin the perfect image you have of Valeria. But…”

Jareth held her tight. “I understand. I understand everything.”

I picked up the screenshots and examined each one.

Arwen’s forgery skills were impressive. No wonder she lied with such confidence.

But then I noticed a small detail about the bank account.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

Arwen’s plan had a single flaw.

She looked nervous. “What are you laughing at?”

Jareth also stared at me warily.

I asked Jareth, “Do you remember when we first started the Ravencrest Pack? You wanted to pay me, and I didn’t want it.”

Jareth’s expression softened. He nodded slowly.

I had truly given them everything I could. My family was well off; I wasn’t lacking for anything.

So I took no shares, no dividends. In the early days when the pack was struggling, I didn’t even take a salary.

But Jareth and Evander insisted on paying me.

So they deposited the money into a card under Jareth’s name and called it my salary card.

I couldn’t talk them out of it. For three years, I used that card to cover my basic living expenses.

But now, the screenshot showed the card under my name.

I took out a pen, circled the detail, and showed it to Jareth and Evander.

One look, and they understood everything. Their faces turned ugly.

Arwen panicked but tried to stay calm. “What? Isn’t your name Valeria?”

Jareth couldn’t take it anymore. He threw the screenshots at Arwen. “You bitch. You framed Valeria.

You made us hurt her right along with you.”

He grabbed her by the collar and slapped her hard to the ground.

It wasn’t until this moment that they realized the truth.

The forced marriage Arwen kept talking about was all fake. And they had been accusing me of something I never did.

Arwen hit the edge of the steps and split her head open. But they didn’t care.

They were only starting to feel the fear. The fear that this time, they might really lose me.

They dropped to their knees, ignoring the stares of onlookers, desperately begging for forgiveness.
