He Ran to Save Her from Being Erased, Not Knowing He Erased Himself from Me Chapter 18

He Ran to Save Her from Being Erased, Not Knowing He Erased Himself from Me Chapter 18

Six months later, I married Julian. My family had already moved out of that neighborhood.

Nolan spent those six months destroying himself. Drinking, gambling, neglecting his work. He ran his

company into the ground.

His parents got sick from the stress. Eventually, they gave up on him and let him rot.

I saw Nolan again on Christmas Eve, on a street corner.

He was revving his sports car, a woman with heavy makeup screaming inside.

I watched from a distance as Nolan slung his arm around her and got out. He even spit on the ground.

He was nothing like the polished, confident Westbrook Twin Star he used to be. He was just a lowlife now.

“The hell. There are so many people here. Where’s that bar we went to last time?” Nolan cursed, looking

around.

The woman next to him giggled. “I forgot too. Where was it?”

Nolan went still. He turned his head and glared at her. “You forgot? What the hell is wrong with you? You

don’t get to forget. Remember. Now.”

The woman was terrified. She stammered an apology.

“Remember. Remember.” Nolan slapped her.

She quickly pointed in a direction. “I remember. It’s that way.”

Nolan seemed satisfied. He put his arm around her and headed toward the bar.

But then he suddenly broke down. He collapsed on the ground and sobbed loudly.

I ran into Sierra again later.

She wasn’t handing out flyers anymore. She had landed a job with the county government back home.

She was a Westbrook graduate, after all. The flyers were just to make some quick cash. With her abilities,

she was always going to succeed.

After passing the exam, she was getting ready to leave the city.

Before she left, she came to find me. I saw she was holding a bottle of wine.

I smiled. “A drink?”

“Mission girl Elara, let me buy you a drink.”

“Don’t be polite. It’s not our first time.”

We drank and talked. Well, mostly Sierra talked. I listened.

She had worked so hard. She had studied like crazy and passed the exam.

Finally, she could sit with her legs crossed and drink wine.

This wine was seven years late.

Cheers to that.
