Three days later, the dungeon doors finally groaned open.

The warriors hauled me out like a piece of dead meat, tossing my broken body onto the floor of the blindingly lit pack hall.

Today was a celebration for Yara, a feast to mark her recovery from the “allergic shock.”

Every member of the Silvermane Pack was there.

The air was thick with the scent of roasted meat, ale, and joy.

Alpha Marcus stood on the dais, pointing down at me.

“Witness this! This biological daughter we recently found, Raven, is a venomous viper!”

“Driven by jealousy, she put peanuts in Yara’s food. Then, days ago, she attacked Yara with a silver blade in the dungeon!”

“If we hadn’t arrived in time, Yara would be dead! The Silvermane Pack will not tolerate such a malicious she-wolf!”

The wolves whispered and pointed.

“Yara is so kind; how could anyone hurt her? Raven needs to be taught a lesson!”

“Exile her! Who knows who she’ll target next?”

“Yes! Kick her out!”

Damon threw a contract into my face.

“Sign it! Apologize to Yara in front of everyone, and then get the hell out of our pack! Mom, Dad, and I don’t want a sister like you!”

It was a severance contract. Once signed, I would no longer be family.

Everything related to the Silvermane Pack would have nothing to do with me; I would be a rogue.

Alpha Marcus added coldly, “I intended for you and Damon to inherit the pack one day. Now it’s clear Yara is the far better choice.”

I trembled, looking at them with utter disappointment.

But then, an old wolf named Mabel, who cleaned the yard, spoke up: “Alpha, Luna! Raven is innocent!”

“I was cleaning the hall outside the kitchen. I saw through the window—Yara poured the powder into the bowl herself!”

The hall went deathly silent.

Yara’s face paled for a second.

She quickly turned a tearful gaze to Luna Mary: “I didn’t do that.”

Damon kicked Mabel hard in the chest: “Why are you slandering Yara? Did Raven pay you to say that?”

Mabel was old; she collapsed, struggling to breathe.

Alpha Marcus barked an order to the warriors: “Hang this liar and give her thirty lashes, then exile her from the Silvermane Pack!”

The warriors dragged Mabel away by her hair.

Her pleas for help were met only with harder blows.

Watching Mabel bleed for the truth,

I felt immense guilt.

I had played mute, I had endured, and I had hidden my power just to keep a family that was now throwing me away.

Now, not only did this family reject me, but I had also implicated the innocent Mabel.

I decided to speak out.

But Yara was faster.

She broke into loud sobs.

“Mom, Dad, please don’t be angry. It’s all my fault.”

“Sister suffered so much; it’s only right she hates me. That old woman probably just lied out of pity.”

“Take back the contract. I’ll leave the Silvermane territory tomorrow. I’ll give her my place, just please… don’t let her hurt me anymore…”

Mom glared at me.

“Look at your sister! Look what you’ve pushed her to!”

Damon crudely sliced my hand with a silver knife, squeezing my fingers until my blood dripped onto the contract.

Alpha Marcus looked down at me with pure enmity.

“From this day forth, you are not my daughter, nor are you a member of the Silvermane Pack.”

My wolf howled in agony within me.

Looking at these three, my heart died.

I looked past Damon, straight into Yara’s smug, tearful eyes.

“Fine. I confess.”

The hall froze. I had spoken.

Yara stared at me, disbelief flashing in her eyes.

“You… you can talk? What are you doing?”
