Silent No More, Never Forgive My Family Chapter 01

Silent No More, Never Forgive My Family Chapter 01

Every word I utter is a prophecy destined to manifest.

In the lore of werewolves, this is known as the Truth-Speaking Curse, the most forbidden of powers.

To possess it is to be a wretched existence, a harbinger of misfortune.

For only a wolf detested by the Moon Goddess would be cursed so.

When I was six, my foster mother kicked me into a frozen river.

As I thrashed in the water, I hissed at her with pure vitriol, “You will drown.”

The very next day.

She was found dead in the shallowest creek in the forest.

Realizing I could kill with a single sentence, my six-year-old self was consumed by terror.

I sealed my lips from that moment on, feigning to be a mute.

Yet, I could not outrun my fate of being ostracized and detested.

The wolves of the pack stayed far away from me.

They were terrified of offending me, terrified that I would use the Truth-Speaking Curse to kill them.

A year ago, my biological parents, Alpha Marcus and Luna Mary, found me.

I was brought back to the Silvermane Pack.

To protect my family and ensure the pack members didn’t fear me, I remained silent.

But today, just as my foster sister Yara finished the oatmeal I had served, she suddenly collapsed, twitching, her face turning purple.

“There are peanuts in the porridge!”

I instinctively tried to protest.

“It wasn’t me…”

The raspiness of my voice reminded me that I was a “mute” and should have used sign language.

Before I could react, my brother Damon lunged at me with a roar.

He grabbed me by the hair and pinned me ruthlessly to the floor.

“Tell me! Did you put peanuts in Yara’s oatmeal?”

Mom immediately called for the healer.

She slapped me hard: “How could I give birth to such a malicious monster! You actually tried to kill your own sister!”

Hearing the commotion, Dad stepped out of his study with a coffee in hand.

Hearing Mom’s words, he splashed the scalding coffee directly onto me.

“If I had known you were this wicked, I never would have brought you back!”

Coffee, tears, and blood blurred my vision.

I shook my head frantically.

“Still lying! You handed the porridge to Yara. If it wasn’t you who poisoned it, who else could it be?”

Damon glared at me, eyes filled with rage, and ripped the lucky bracelet from my wrist.

“Don’t touch it!” I struggled to reclaim it.

Damon delivered a brutal kick to my chest.

I slammed into the floor, and his partially extended claws left three bloody gashes across my ribs.

He turned and pressed the bracelet into Yara’s hand.

“Yara is hanging on by a thread; she needs this luck. How can you be so selfish? You just want her dead!”

I kept shaking my head.

They had no clue—if I truly wanted her dead, I wouldn’t need to exploit an allergy.

I would only need to speak a single sentence.

Like right now.

But I still remembered the day I returned home.

My father, the Alpha of the Silvermane Pack, had personally grilled meat for me.

My mother held me, weeping.

She believed I was simply unfortunate to have been lost as a pup, separated from my parents.

She gave me her grandmother’s lucky bracelet, hoping it would ward off further misfortune.

Damon had even taken me to a party for the young wolves of the Silvermane Pack and fought off a wolf who tried to harass me.

I didn’t want my family to know about the Truth-Speaking Curse; I didn’t want them to think I was a wolf loathed by the Moon Goddess.

However, my mother struck me again.

“A malicious wolf like you doesn’t deserve this bracelet! From now on, it belongs to Yara.”

Yara leaned weakly into Mom’s arms, tears streaming down her face while she gripped my bracelet tight.

“Dad, Mom, please don’t blame my sister… As an adopted daughter, I’ve enjoyed the happiness that should have been hers. It’s only natural she hates me.”

“As long as she’s satisfied, even my life doesn’t matter…”

Mom pulled Yara closer, turning a glare of pure hatred toward me.

“Your sister almost died, and she’s still pleading for you! Look at you—not a shred of remorse!”

The crushing pressure of Alpha Marcus’s aura filled the room.

A low growl vibrated in his throat.

“Throw her in the dungeon!”

“Keep her there for three days. Let her learn that the Silvermane Pack does not tolerate such evil.”
