An hour later, we got off the plane.

On the way to the hotel, Ethan and I didn’t say a word to each other.

I got my luggage into the elevator, got off the elevator, and ate lunch all by myself.

Ethan had said he was here to accompany me on this trip, but in reality, he spent the entire time with Sophie.

I thought that was fine too.

After all, I had AI Guy.

AI Guy had arranged my itinerary for the next few days neatly and even turned it into a spreadsheet.

But halfway through reading it, someone snatched my phone away.

When I looked up, I saw Sophie’s smug smile.

“Wow, this is such a detailed itinerary.”

“Ethan, you must have customized this for Lila, right?”

I frowned and reached out to take my phone back.

But Ethan had already taken it from Sophie.

He glanced at it and frowned.

“I didn’t write this.”

Then he looked up at me.

“As far as I know, you don’t have that kind of patience. Who made this for you?”

I took my phone back, annoyed, and ignored the panic flickering in his eyes.

“That’s none of your business.”

“But is it really okay to casually look through someone else’s private things?”

I swear, I didn’t mean anything malicious by it.

Anyone who had been forced to listen to these two unhinged people make noise the entire way would not have been in a good mood.

But Sophie twisted my meaning.

She took two steps back, her eyes reddening.

“Ethan, Lila, do you two not want me here with you?”

“I get it. Straight-A students only like hanging out with other straight-A students. A slacker like me doesn’t belong.”

As she spoke, she wiped away a tear and turned as if to leave.

Ethan stopped her, then turned back to look at me with reddened eyes.

“Lila, that was way out of line.”

“It’s just some stupid itinerary. Why are you so protective of it?”

I looked at the two of them in confusion.

Then, all of a sudden, I felt that Sophie was right.

“Yes, it is.”

“Even if it’s just a stupid itinerary, he designed it for me with care.”

“I’ll go by myself. You two can do whatever you want.”

After saying that, I picked up my things and brushed past Ethan.

I had planned to come out alone in the first place.

Ethan was right. It was time for me to learn how to grow up, so I didn’t hesitate. Following the route AI Guy gave me, I spent an hour finding my way to the beach on my own.

The ocean was so beautiful.

I suddenly remembered the day I first wanted to see the sea.

It was the day I noticed the faint scent on Ethan and asked him what it was.

He had tried to act mysterious, but the tips of his ears had turned red.

“The scent of the sea breeze.”

“Lila, after graduation, do you want to go see the ocean with me?”

Back then, I had been so happy.

But now, the only person who had kept that promise and come to see the ocean was me.

I casually took a photo and sent it to AI Guy.

He replied instantly.

AI Guy: [Turn around.]

In that moment, my heart almost leaped out of my chest.

I whipped around, only for my view to be blocked by two figures.

It was Ethan and Sophie.

I stood up and anxiously looked past them.

There was nothing behind them.
