I Faked My Death to Escape the Mafia Don After My Daughter Died Chapter 19

In the end, Giovanna fled in panic.

She used the excuse of wanting to walk around Naples and ran out almost as if she were

escaping.

Raffaele watched her back and shook his head helplessly.

He ordered the guards, “Follow her. Protect her, but don’t let her notice.”

Giovanna had no idea.

With her mind in chaos, she chose to wander through a mall.

She had known for three years that Raffaele liked her.

What made her panic now was that her own heart was not dead water either.

Could she really love someone again?

While she was lost in thought, familiar footsteps sounded behind her.

Giovanna reacted quickly and turned abruptly.

The face before her was somewhat haggard, but still handsome.

It was the person she never wanted to see again in this life.

“Vittorio Rizzuto…”

Giovanna only managed to say those three words before pain struck the back of her neck

and her body fell straight down.

Behind her, the black-clad guard withdrew his hand.

Vittorio caught her limp body in time.

He buried his face against her neck, his eyes gentle and mad.

“You’re finally… back by my side.”

The guard had hit hard.

Giovanna was unconscious for an entire day.

When she opened her eyes again, everything around her was painfully familiar.

Vittorio had brought her back to Sicily.

Giovanna frowned hard and sat up, only to feel a sharp pull.

She looked down and saw long chains fastened to all four of her limbs, the other ends

disappearing into the wall.

Vittorio had chained her to the room.

The door opened.

Vittorio walked in carrying food.

Seeing that she was awake, his eyes lit.

“Giovanna, you’re awake. Are you hungry?”

Giovanna looked at him coldly.

“Untie me.”

The light in Vittorio’s eyes dimmed.

“Not yet.”

“If I untie you, you’ll run again.”

“I won’t let you leave me anymore.”

Giovanna laughed.

“Vittorio Rizzuto, are you insane?”

“Yes.” He admitted it without hesitation. “I went insane a long time ago.”

“From the moment you jumped from that cliff, I went insane.”

He walked to the bed and sat beside her, speaking softly.

“Giovanna, I know the truth now. Dario isn’t my son. Serena planned everything. I punished

her. I really punished her.”

“I was wrong. I shouldn’t have believed her. I shouldn’t have chosen that child over Ansela.”

His voice trembled.

“Come back to me. We can start over.”

Giovanna stared at him as if he were a stranger.

“Start over?”

“Can Ansela start over?”

Vittorio went pale.

Giovanna slowly said, “Can the daughter you abandoned come back and start over?”

“Can what happened to me in that warehouse be erased and start over?”

“Vittorio, you don’t want to start over. You just want to pretend nothing happened.”

Vittorio’s lips trembled.

“No. I know I was wrong. I can make it up to you. I can give you anything.”

“I don’t want anything from you.”

Giovanna looked at him, calm and cruel.

“I only want you to disappear from my life.”

Vittorio’s eyes reddened.

“That’s the only thing I can’t do.”
