17 Years of Empty Draws: The Neglected Triplet Never Forgives Chapter 03

17 Years of Empty Draws: The Neglected Triplet Never Forgives Chapter 03

The next morning, my high school teacher Mr. Hadrian called me.

“Celestine, do you still have your high school study notes? The incoming underclassmen want to borrow them. Is that okay?”

“Sure. I still have them. ”

“Then I’ll send a representative over this afternoon to pick them up.”

“Alright.”

That afternoon, I walked to the entrance of Northvale territory and handed over the full set of notes I had compiled over three years to the underclassman who came.

His eyes were full of gratitude. He thanked me earnestly on behalf of the whole class.

He also pressed a new Kate Spade hair clip into my hands, saying it was a thank you gift from all the classmates.

“Thank you, Celestine!”

I froze for a second, then smiled and gave him a light hug.

“Thank you. Good luck with your studies next year.”

I had just gotten back home when an anonymous post suddenly popped up on the Northvale Pack forum.

It came with a photo of me hugging that underclassman.

The caption was sharp and stinging.

[Hugging and clinging at the territory gate. How shameless can you get?]

Comments poured in under the post right away.

Neighbors and relatives quickly recognized me.

[Is that Celestine?]

[I heard her grades aren’t any good, and now she’s throwing her reputation away?]

My parents stormed into my room and shoved the phone screen right in front of my face.

“You’d better explain this!”

The overwhelming pressure of an Alpha crashed down on me.

I clenched my hands and explained word by word.

“He’s a junior from West Ridge. He came to borrow my notes.”

Mother let out a cold snort.

“Celestine, with your grades, would anyone come all the way just to borrow notes from you?”

“Why hasn’t anyone ever asked Maren or Aurelia for their notes?”

Aurelia stepped forward and picked up the Kate Spade hair clip sitting on the table.

“Celestine, what underclassman would spend a fortune on a hair clip for you?”

“I know you’re jealous of the hair clip Soren got me, but selling yourself for a hair clip? That’s low..”

“It’s not like that, this is…”

I didn’t get to finish my sentence.

Father’s anger exploded.

He stepped forward, his voice shaking with disappointment.

“Celestine Veyne, do we not feed or clothe you? How could you do something so disgusting?”

Father’s voice shook with barely contained rage.

Mother snatched the hair clip and threw it onto the floor, crushing it under her shoe.

I knelt down to pick up the broken pieces, and sharp shards sliced my finger.

My phone lit up right then.

It was Soren.

My finger paused. I tapped the screen almost instinctively.

Soren: [Celestine, you’d do something like this just for a hair clip. I never knew you were this kind of person.]

Soren: [No wonder you’re the only triplet your parents don’t love. You brought this on yourself!]

The Soren who used to ruffle my hair and say he’d always protect me was gone.

Tears streamed down onto the screen.

My finger hurt, but it was nothing compared to the pain in my core.

That night, I was locked in the basement.

Old furniture and training equipment were piled up there year round. The air was stuffy, and dust covered everything.

In less than two hours, my skin started itching.

Large red rashes spread across my neck, arms and back, and I struggled to breathe.

Fighting through the discomfort, I slowly made my way to the living room.

Mother was picking out new travel clothes for Aurelia.

My voice came out hoarse, broken by uncontrollable coughs.

“Mother, I’m having an allergic reaction. Can you get me some medicine?”

She didn’t lift her head.

“It’s not a big deal. Just bear with it.”

“Maren and Aurelia never bother us over trivial things like this.”

Yet I still remembered how panicked Mother was when Maren scraped her hand, darting around to grab the first-aid kit.

When Aurelia coughed a couple times, Father would go to the kitchen himself and pour her warm water.

Aurelia glanced at my raw, red arms and curled her lips in mockery.

“Celestine, are you faking this to get sympathy after what happened today?”

Father sat on the sofa, his tone icy cold.

“If it itches, wipe your skin with cold water. Don’t get in our way.”

Maren stood nearby. She clearly saw the big swollen rashes covering my neck and arms.

But in the end, she just looked away.

I froze. Suffocation and stinging itchiness washed over me.

I turned and went back to that dusty room, wiping my searing skin over and over with cold water.

But by midnight, my condition only got worse.

Right before I lost consciousness completely, I felt for the phone beside the bed.
