The living room went dead quiet.

At last, Elowen spoke, her voice smaller than before.”Seraphina referred someone. She knows a trafficker in

the Caribbean Islands.

“You sold her to the Caribbean Islands?”Elias nearly shouted.

Elowen flinched back, then sat up straight.”I did it for you! She’d only hold you back here. Better to send her

far away.”

Elias didn’t listen another second.

He turned and left, slamming the door so hard the walls shook.

Elowen shouted after him.”Where are you going? Get back here!”

He didn’t look back.

Elias found Seraphina.

She was at her private spa getting a facial, mask on, eyes closed.

“Sis,”He said quietly from the doorway.

Seraphina opened her eyes. One look at his face, and she paled beneath the mask.

She sat up and dismissed her esthetician, forcing a smile.”What’s wrong? You look terrible.”

“You sold my wife.”

Seraphina’s smile froze. She frowned.”What are you talking about? I would never-”

“Caribbean broker. Two million. “Elias cut her off.

“You told Mom about him.”

Seraphina went quiet for a moment, then sighed, her tone softening. “Elias, I did this for you. Think about it.

That woman lost ten babies in three years. She’s broken. She’d only distract you. I got rid of her so you could

move on-”

“Move on?”

Elias laughed, a cold, sharp sound that made Seraphina shiver.”So I’d be alone and you could keep playing

the perfect sister-in-law? Or did you want me to marry you?”

Seraphina went completely white.

“You think I didn’t know?”Elias took one step forward.

“You married my brother because he was the heir.

You made me marry Elara because she was from a working-class background and easy to control.

You made me end her pregnancies because you were scared she’d have a son.

You didn’t give her that abortion elixir to help her. You just didn’t want her recovery to slow down your next

plan.”

Seraphina’s lips trembled. She couldn’t speak.

“I was wrong.”Elias said.

“I was wrong to trust you. I fell for your nice act for ten years.”

He turned and walked toward the door.

“Elias!”

Seraphina ran after him and grabbed his arm.”You can’t do this to me! I did it all for you! You know I only love

you-”

Elias looked down at her hand.

“Sis.”His voice was ice.

“From today on, you’re no longer part of the Voss family.”

Seraphina stared at him, stunned.

“I’ll buy out all your shares in Voss Group at market price. Refuse, and I’ll audit the books.”

All the color drained from Seraphina’s face.

She knew better than anyone how much money she’d stolen from the family.
