The Fake Heiress Who Tamed the Young Don Chapter 03

The Fake Heiress Who Tamed the Young Don Chapter 03

Hearing the surprise in Marino’s voice, I snapped my head up.

Ricardo stood only one step away from me.

His black eyes looked coated in frost as he stared at how close Marino’s arm was to mine.

I straightened awkwardly.

“Ricky… why are you here?”

Ricardo’s gaze moved back to my face, and his lips suddenly curved.

“So he’s the one you found to replace me?”

Me: ???

It wasn’t until I saw the huge sign above him that read Costa Tattoo that I realized Ricardo was still thinking about the tattoo.

He thought I had brought Marino here to tattoo my name.

I quickly waved my hands.

“No, Ricky, we walked into the wrong place.”

Before I could finish, a heavily tattooed woman walked out of the shop and handed Ricardo a sheet of paper with some kind of design on it.

“Handsome, you forgot this.”

Then she saw us and greeted us warmly.

“Oh, Marino, you’re here. Go inside and pick a design first. I’ll be right there.”

Ricardo looked at me with calm indifference, then turned and left.

My scalp went numb.

In a flash, a possibility appeared in my mind.

I hurried after him and held my breath as I looked up at him.

“Ricky, did you come to the tattoo shop because of me?”

[Lol, ma’am, how big is your ego? He came here to custom-order temporary tattoos for the real princess. She wants one but is afraid of pain, so he has to spoil her like this.]

[But he definitely won’t admit it in front of the fake heiress. Otherwise, a certain spoiled brat would flip the place over. Poor brother, holding a design made with the real princess’s initials while having to lie through his teeth.]

My lashes trembled.

I quickly waved at Ricardo and laughed awkwardly.

“Ricky, I was kidding. Don’t take it seriously.”

“Yes.”

For a second, every sound around me seemed to vanish.

The smile on my face slowly disappeared.

I stared silently at Ricardo.

Then I listened as he confirmed the comments, word by word, with absolute seriousness.

“It was for you.”

Refusing to give up, I reached for the paper in his hand.

My voice shook a little.

“Then this is for me too, right? I want to see it.”

Ricardo unnaturally moved his hand behind his back, hiding the design.

Maybe because he rarely lied, even the tips of his ears turned red.

“It’s not finished yet. You can see it later.”

My fingers grasped nothing.

And in that moment, my heart sank all the way down.

I had clearly known from the comments that Ricardo hated me, yet I still clung to a fantasy.

Again and again, I tested him.

In the end, I only humiliated myself and became a joke.

Poor Ricardo still had to make up lies to deal with me.

He must be even more sick of me now.

I curled my fingers and said quietly, “Okay. I understand.”

Ricardo visibly relaxed, and the corner of his mouth even lifted without him realizing it.

“Then let’s go home. I had the staff buy groceries. We’ll have lasagna and T-bone steak, all your favorites.”

I closed my eyes.

“No. Marino and I already made plans. I’m not going home for dinner.”

So he didn’t need to force himself to eat food he didn’t like with someone he disliked.

Ricardo’s expression froze for a second, as if he had remembered something, and his face immediately chilled.

“You still want to take him to get a tattoo?”

I shook my head dully.

“I made up the tattoo thing. Don’t take it seriously. Marino just came along because it was on the way. The tattoo artist, Costa, is his aunt.”

Behind him, Marino happened to call the tattooed woman Aunt.

Ricardo’s brows moved slightly.

“Then bring him home for dinner. You’re not used to food outside.”

Only then did I remember that before, I had always used “I’m not used to food outside” as an excuse to order Ricardo into the kitchen.

He spent the day doing lab work at school, then rushed home before I got out just to cook for me.

I said, “…It’s fine. I’ve been planning to change my taste anyway. I won’t come home for dinner for a while.”

Ricardo’s brow twitched.

“Talia Moretti.”

A cheerful piano melody rang from his pocket.

It was a piece I had played myself, one I had forced him to set as my ringtone.

He probably didn’t like it either.

The atmosphere nearly froze, but the ringtone only grew brighter and more cheerful.

I couldn’t keep my face straight.

“Someone’s calling you.”

Ricardo closed his eyes, pulled out his phone impatiently, and was about to hang up when his fingers paused.

By accident, I saw the name on the screen.

Tecla Mariani.

[The real princess accidentally knocked over lab chemicals and is crying from guilt. Brother, answer the phone and comfort her!]

[His whole heart is with the real princess now, but he still has to patiently play along with this spoiled brat. It’s infuriating. Can the brat please get lost?]

I cut off whatever Ricardo was about to say.

“Answer it. I have something to do, so I’ll go first.”

After saying that, I turned and left.

Footsteps sounded behind me, but they quickly stopped.

Back in the shop, Marino asked if I still wanted to cut my hair.

Through the glass window, Ricardo held the phone in one hand while using the other to hurriedly open the door of a black car.

From beginning to end, he never looked back at me.

I blinked back the sting in my eyes and sat down in the salon chair.

“Cut it. As short as possible.”
