The True Mafia Principessa Chapter 01

The True Mafia Principessa Chapter 01

After seven years overseas, I came home… only to be stopped at my own front door.

The security guard said I wasn’t the lady of the house.

A maid I had never seen before questioned my identity.

Even the new neighbors sneered, saying I was some desperate gold digger trying to scam my way into a wealthy family.

I almost laughed from the absurdity.

I pulled out my phone, ready to call my uncle, Lorenzo Grimaldi, and have him unlock the gates remotely.

Before I could dial, three men stepped in front of me.

No warm reunion. No relief at seeing me again.

Only cold rejection.

“You can’t come back here,” Lucian said.

He didn’t even hesitate.

“We’ve got a sponsored college student living here now,” he explained. “You know how this world works. People respect status. She needs an identity to stand on.”

Nico added casually, “Everyone in our circle knows who’s who. You’re the only one who’s been gone, so we let her take your place for now. She’s the Vayne family’s Principessa.”

Quentin’s voice turned sharp, almost threatening.

“She’s sensitive. Fragile. If people find out the truth and humiliate her, she might not survive it. I like her. I’m not letting anything happen to her. So she stays the Principessa. You should go back to wherever you came from.”

I listened to the three of them, and the whole thing felt completely unreal.

To help that girl fit into high society… they just replaced me?

“Are you all insane?” I snapped. “If you want to give her a name, then take her home and have your families adopt her. Why the hell are you using mine?”

Quentin frowned, clearly annoyed.

“Stop being difficult. This is my decision.”

He grabbed my wrist, his grip firm, his expression cold.

“She came from an orphanage, just like I did. I know what that’s like. I want her to have a better life.”

He looked at me as if everything he said made perfect sense.

“Olyria, you were born with everything. Even after your parents died, you’ve lived comfortably. We’re only asking you to give up your life for two years. Is that really so hard?”

His tone was calm. Reasonable.

It sent a chill straight through me.

Like I was being watched by something dangerous. Something cold and predatory.

Out of the three of them, Quentin had always been my favorite.

I was the one who brought him home from the orphanage.

My parents had wanted to adopt a child to keep me company. I’d gone through dozens of candidates and liked none of them.

Until I saw him.

He had been sick at the time, pale and weak, his eyes locked on mine with quiet desperation.

“Help me,” he had whispered.

He was beautiful in a distant, almost untouchable way. I softened immediately and begged my father to take him in.

After treatment, he recovered. And with it, that same cold, distant air returned.

He was indifferent to everyone.

Everyone except me.

People used to say I was the only one he treated differently.

I believed it.

Until today.

Quentin’s voice pulled me back to reality.

“I know you miss home,” he said. “I thought about going abroad to see you a few times. But Clara gets anxious when I’m not around. She gets sick. She needs me more than you do.”

He paused, then added softly, “So, Olyria… just let her have this.”

I stared at him, at the way he spoke like some tragic hero sacrificing everything for love.

My whole body shook with anger.

“In your dreams,” I said. “I’m throwing her out. And you. I’m calling Uncle Lorenzo and cutting off every single partnership between our families.”

I pulled out my phone and started dialing.

Lucian and Nico panicked instantly.

“Don’t let her make that call!”

They moved at the same time. One clamped a hand over my mouth, the other tried to wrestle the phone out of my grip.

I fought back hard and sank my teeth into Lucian’s hand.

He cursed.

And right then, someone saw everything.

A girl walking her dog had just returned.

Clara.

Her expression darkened instantly.

“You bit Lucian?” she snapped. “Max, get her!”

She dropped the leash.

A German Shepherd lunged at me.

Its jaws clamped down on my arm, shaking violently as it tore into my flesh.

The pain was blinding.

I screamed, trying to yank my arm free.

The dog only bit harder.

And the three men I grew up with… didn’t stop it.

Not one of them.

If anything, they looked relieved.

I collapsed onto the ground, my vision spinning from the pain.

Lucian even smiled, touched.

“Clara really does care about me,” he said. “She defended me right away.”

Clara stood there, hands on her hips, smug.

“Well, of course. You treat me well, so I treat you well. That woman is disgusting. Just letting Max bite her once is too easy. Maybe we should lock her up for a while. Let her learn her lesson.”

Quentin finally called the dog back and gently coaxed Clara.

“Go inside first. Take Max with you.”

She blushed, suddenly shy.

“Okay, Quentin.”

He watched her leave, his gaze soft.

Then he looked back at me.

And all warmth vanished.

“You thought you could threaten us with your uncle?” he said quietly. “Maybe it’s time you learned your place.”
