My Alpha Married My Best Friend Over a Game Chapter 06

“Charlotte, you faked the whole thing?!” Alpha Clive’s roar exploded in front of the empty temple. Veins

bulged at his temple.

Now that the lie was exposed in front of him, the hurt on Charlotte’s face vanished. Only a twisted sneer

remained.

“So what if I lied? Everything after that was done by you!”

“You vowed to be my mate. You posted the statement. I didn’t force you into any of it!”

Clive’s chest heaved. Shame and rage wiped out his reason.

He raised his hand and slapped her hard.

“Shut up!” He glared down at her and released his Alpha dominance.

Then he turned and left alone. He didn’t believe I would really leave. He was going to find me.

But when he reached the small house where I used to live, all he found was wreckage.

The stains hadn’t been cleaned. The beast blood on the doorframe hadn’t dried. Ashes from burned things

lay scattered by the steps, black and ugly.

Pack patrol members were cleaning up and cursing.

Clive grabbed one of them by the arm, his voice shaking. “The Omega who lived here? Where is Felicity?!”

The patrol member glanced at him and lowered his head. “She moved out a long time ago. People found

out she was your other woman. A lot of them came to the pack border looking for her. She got beaten up!”

Alpha Clive snapped, “She is not the other woman!”

The patrol member froze for a moment. “But, Alpha, weren’t you the one who admitted she was the other

woman?”

Clive had no answer.

He’d only wanted to use public opinion to force me to back down. He never thought extremists would

actually come after me.

The patrol member shrugged with disdain. “Whether she was the other woman or not, you already have a

mate. Maybe don’t go after other she-wolves.”

Alpha Clive’s face went pale. –

He wanted to say there had never been another woman in our relationship, but he couldn’t.

Because he was the one who had nailed me to the shame of being the other woman.

He slid down against the cold wall.

He’d thought it was just a game to test our relationship. Only now did he realize what he’d pushed away

with his own hands.

He suddenly remembered the dead look in my eyes in the hospital room when he forced me to apologize to Charlotte.

I had told him so many times it wasn’t me. He hadn’t believed me.

His phone buzzed. Hope flashed across his face.

Maybe I had calmed down and come looking for him.

But when he saw an unknown number, disappointment hit immediately.

“Hello, are you a friend of Felicity? She was treated at our hospital yesterday. She should have stayed for observation, but during rounds today, we found she checked herself out.”

“When she was unconscious, we saw your number in her phone. Do you know where she went?”

Alpha Clive felt like he’d been struck by lightning. “What hospitalization? What unconscious?”

The staff member paused. “You didn’t know? She was beaten unconscious yesterday. A passerby brought her in.”

Clive’s hand trembled. His phone fell to the ground.

He remembered the call I’d made to him yesterday. What had he said?

“Your pity act is too fake.”

And at that moment, I might have been close to being beaten to death.

How desperate must I have been? How disappointed in him?

To leave before her wounds had even healed?

He didn’t dare think further.

It felt like sharp wolf claws were tearing his heart apart. The pain almost suffocated him.
