My Alpha Married My Best Friend Over a Game Chapter 05

On Monday morning, Alpha Clive waited early at the entrance of the pack temple.

Charlotte suggested playing the statue game again. The bet was that he would delay rejecting her.

He snapped at her in a low voice. Felicity doesn’t like it. We’re going along with her this time.”

He was full of anticipation, imagining how excited I’d be after we completed the bonding ceremony.

But he waited until ten. Then ten thirty. Then eleven.

I never showed up.

He wanted to call and demand answers, but before he could, he saw a message from Beta Gideon.

[Alpha Clive, you and Charlotte are famous!]

Clive was confused and immediately asked, “What do you mean?”

Gideon sent him a link.

[Take a look. Your business with Charlotte is all over the internet!]

Alpha Clive’s heart sank. He clicked the link.

His eyes went wide.

The post contained all the evidence I’d organized.

From the beginning of our relationship, to Charlotte suggesting the statue game.

To every time they’d toyed with me, and finally to them twisting everything and branding me the other

woman.

At the end, I wrote:

“They said this game was meant to strengthen our relationship. That it was just a joke. But every time they

played it, I felt pain.”

“They fed on my pain and made me carry blame that wasn’t mine. I don’t need a relationship like that.”

In the comments, the same people who’d attacked me turned again.

[So we were going after the wrong girl this whole time?]

[The photos and timeline are out now. No way to twist this.]

I knew that Charlotte didn’t look like a good person!]

[That guy is disgusting too. He kept flirting with someone else through a game while stringing his girlfriend

along, and used her things as bets!]

Alpha Clive’s dominance exploded. He nearly crushed his phone.

Charlotte noticed his expression and leaned in. When she saw the post, she screamed.

“That bitch Felicity! How could she do this!” She grabbed his arm. “Go find her and make her delete it!”

Alpha Clive called and texted, but got no response.

It suddenly hit him. This was the first time I had ever made myself impossible to find.

He’d always assumed that whenever he wanted, I would be within reach.

But now he couldn’t find me at all.

Seeing him frozen, Charlotte panicked. “What are you waiting for? My family is asking if it’s true! If she

doesn’t delete it, i’ll be a social pariah!”

Her nagging irritated him. He shoved her away. “What are you yelling for? Wasn’t everything she said true?!

You were happy enough when you were smearing her. Now that it’s your turn, you can’t take it?”

Charlotte stared at him in shock, like she couldn’t process it.

Then she exploded. “You’re blaming me now?! You were the one who got those people to harass her

online! You said you wanted to teach her a lesson!”

“I slit my wrist for you, and now you regret it?”

Clive’s gaze dropped to the gauze on her wrist. Disgust flashed in his eyes. “Yeah. I regret it!”

He turned to leave, but Charlotte grabbed his hand.

He yanked impatiently, and the gauze tore off.

The place that should have held an ugly wound was completely clean.

Charlotte rushed to cover her wrist, but it was too late.
