My Alpha Married My Best Friend Over a Game Chapter 03

didn’t push her hard, but Charlotte acted like she’d been hit by a heavy blow and nearly tumbled down the

stairs.

Clive caught her immediately.

The box hit the floor hard. The clay figures we’d made together on our third anniversary spilled out and

shattered.

I instinctively reached for the female figure’s head and was shoved away.

A ceramic shard dug deep into my palm. I gasped in pain.

Clive roared at me. “If you have a problem, take it out on me! Why are you going after someone innocent?!”

Charlotte’s eyes reddened. She tugged carefully at Clive’s sleeve. “Forget it. If I hadn’t suggested this

game, you two wouldn’t be here. It’s all my fault. I’ll leave.”

Tears fell as she turned to go, but Alpha Clive caught her.

“You did nothing wrong. She’s the one being petty!” He looked at me with disappointment. “Felicity, how

did you become so petty?”

I found it ironic.

I raised my bleeding palm. “Clive, look at my hand. I’m bleeding, and you haven’t even asked if I’m okay.”

He froze. Pain flickered in his eyes.

But the moment he took a step toward me, Charlotte’s voice came again.

“My foot hurts so much. I think I twisted it.”

He stopped in his tracks, his expression turning cold again.

“This is all your fault! If you hadn’t pushed Charlotte, none of this would have happened! Stay here and

reflect on what you’ve done. If you can’t figure it out, there’s no need for the bonding ceremony next week!”

He carried Charlotte away.

The door slammed shut.

I gritted my teeth and dug the ceramic shard out of my flesh. I bandaged my hand, picked up the

bloodstained things on the floor, packed them, and threw them in the trash.

The heavy thud as they hit the bottom felt like the end of everything we’d had.

That night, I saw Charlotte’s Instagram post.

In the photo, Alpha Glive was on one knee, rubbing her ankle.

[Helping my best friend train her obedient boyfriend.]

I stared at the picture, dazed.

Clive always said Alphas were proud. If an Alpha lowered his head to care for his mate, he’d lose authority.

So even when I got hurt on patrol and couldn’t move from bed, he never once wiped my body for me.

Now he was on one knee for Charlotte.

I took a deep breath and typed a comment. “No need to train him. He’s yours now.”

The next second, the post disappeared.

Clive snarled through the mind link. “What do you mean by that comment? So many friends are asking me

what happened. Do you have any idea what your reckless words could do to her?”

“Apologize. Right now. Immediately. Or the bonding ceremony is canceled. Say it!”

His questions echoed in my head until it throbbed.

His first question wasn’t about me.

It was about why I’d told the truth and hurt Charlotte.

When I didn’t respond, his voice sounded in my mind again. “You like hurting people so much? Then taste

it yourself.”

Soon after, my comment under Charlotte’s post was screenshotted and spread online.

At first, people blamed Charlotte for being the other woman.

But Alpha Clive quickly posted a statement.

[Charlotte and I are already vowed mates. Felicity’s comment is pure slander!]

The attached photo was their wedding-style shoot. Their faces were pressed close, smiles sweet, like a happy newlywed couple.

Charlotte also posted a video of herself lying in a hospital bed.

Her face was pale, and her wrist was wrapped in gauze stained with blood.

“I always treated her like a good friend. Even when she kept imagining my mate was her boyfriend, I never

called her out to spare her feelings.”

“But I never thought my kindness would make her push further!”

She choked up like a real victim.

Public opinion flipped instantly.
