My Sister Popped The Bubble Of My Happy Marriage Chapter 12

When Dante came to see me again, he brought a funding commitment letter.

The Rinaldi family was willing to inject capital into Santoro Holdings to cover the funding gap on the port logistics project. There were only three conditions: I postpone the divorce, take down the public evidence, and stop pursuing the assets under Serafina’s name.

“The money fills the hole, and Santoro gets back on its feet.” Dante pushed the document toward me. “And

you won’t have to deal with them anymore.”

He was still the same as always. He thought that as long as he put enough chips on the table, he could decide the ending for everyone.

“And Serafina?”

“She’ll leave New York.”

“So you’re going to use Rinaldi money to plug Santoro’s hole, send her away, and then we go back to playing

the happy couple?”

Dante’s face darkened. “I’m solving the problem.”

“No. You’re solving your own problem.”

Footsteps came from outside the door. Serafina stood there. She had clearly heard the last few lines.

“You’re sending me away?” She looked at Dante, tears spilling over. “You said no matter whether Celeste had

the baby or not, my place in your heart would never change.”

Dante frowned. “You lied to her first. And you lied to me.”

“Did I force you to come to me? Did I force you to hold me, stay with me, and lie to her again and again?” Serafina suddenly laughed, and the laugh was full of resentment. “You enjoyed having someone waiting for you on both sides. Now that she’s gone, you’re putting all the blame on me?”

Dante didn’t answer.

The silence made Serafina finally see the truth. He wasn’t going to bear everything for her. She had always

believed she was the one Dante truly chose, but once I stopped staying where I was, he started calculating

what losing me would cost him.

She turned to me, her eyes full of venom.

“Why do you always get to take what’s mine?”

“Dante wasn’t something you gave me.” I pushed the divorce papers toward him. “He proposed to me. He married me. And he went behind my back with you. He isn’t a prize. He’s just a man who won’t take responsibility for the consequences.”

I looked at Dante.

“Sign it. Stop using Rinaldi money to fill Santoro’s hole, and stop trying to prove you love me by sending Serafina away. I don’t want either of you.”

Dante stared at the signature line and didn’t pick up the pen. He still thought that if he dragged it out, I would

soften the way I always had.

Anthony walked in with the latest court documents. The recovery proceedings involving the trust funds had

started, and several affiliated assets were now under preservation orders. The balance Dante wanted to

maintain with money could no longer be restored with a promise.

Serafina’s phone rang. The bank was notifying her that the properties under her name could not be sold for

the time being because they were tied to disputed funds.

She grabbed Dante’s sleeve. “You said you’d protect me.”

Dante slowly pulled her hand away. “What I regret most now is covering for you all this time.”

I didn’t look at them again.

As I left the meeting room, Anthony told me Father had started pressuring the Santoro family’s old contacts,

trying to frame this as an internal family dispute.

I had known he would do that.

The business Don Salvatore left behind spanned ports, warehousing, and transportation. Father’s greatest

skill was using the family name to make people believe he was always in control.

But this time, I wasn’t going to protect his image anymore.
