The Baby Whisperer They Tried To Tear Apart Chapter 03

The Baby Whisperer They Tried To Tear Apart Chapter 03

My cheeks swelled up. Five clear finger marks were left on my face.

I looked at the woman in front of me. I had never seen her before in my life.

I kept my face expressionless, held my injured cheek, and warned her, “I don’t know you. If you don’t apologize and pay for damages right now, I will have my legal team file a lawsuit against you.”

The woman started wailing as if someone had died.

“God help me. Why did I give birth to such a monster?”

“She’s so deep in her lies that she won’t even acknowledge her own mother.”

“Miss Sterling, Mr. Vance, I’m sorry. I failed to raise her properly.”

“Do whatever you want to punish her. I won’t stop you. Maybe this will teach her not to go around conning people.”

Her words sent a shock through the room. Guests gasped and whispered among themselves.

“So she really is a professional con artist?”

“Her own mother said it. That seals it.”

“Thank God she showed up. We were all about to be scammed.”

Sierra gritted her teeth and glared at me. “Having fun playing me for a fool?”

“Someone throw her in the cage with the dogs. Let her have some real fun.”

I saw smug satisfaction flash across both the woman’s and Julian’s faces.

I shouted immediately. “I’m not lying. This woman is not my mother. And my name isn’t Patricia.”

“It’s Natalie. She doesn’t even know my name. How could she be my mother?”

Sierra finally looked at my diplomas. They clearly said Natalie Shaw.

I saw doubt flicker in her eyes. Julian quickly stepped in.

“A mother wouldn’t mistake her own daughter. She’s Patricia.”

“She forged those documents to trick you.”

“What’s a name? Who knows how many fake names she uses to cover her tracks.”

I immediately demanded Sierra send someone to the county clerk’s office and run me through the law enforcement database.

My name is Natalie Shaw. The parents listed on my ID are not this woman.

Sierra half believed me, half didn’t. She made the call. The answer came back quickly.

My legal name was indeed Natalie Shaw. The woman in front of me was not my mother.

But facing Sierra’s sharp stare, the woman still insisted she was my biological mother.

“Natalie, I left your father when you were three because he was violent and unfaithful. I raised you all by myself.”

“Just because that bastard promised to buy you a car and a house if you change your last name to his, you won’t even acknowledge your own mother?”

“He’s lying to you. Only I truly love you.”

Tears streamed down her face. She pulled out a DNA test report showing she was my biological mother.

Then I remembered. When I was little, my father told me the woman we lived with wasn’t my real mother.

My birth mother was a gambling addict. One night after a big loss, she tried to put me up as collateral.

My father couldn’t take it anymore. He divorced her, moved us out of state overnight, and cut all ties.

My family didn’t even have a single photo of her. No wonder I didn’t recognize her.

But no one believed my explanation.

Even Arthur, who had been silent until now, stood up.

“Miss Shaw, I want to believe you.”

“But your mother has worked for the Sterling family for twenty years. I trust her character.”

“I will not allow a woman who lies through her teeth and tries to destroy my daughter’s marriage to keep breathing.”

He raised his hand and signaled his security team to shove me into the dog cage.

My eyes landed on Sierra, who was finally starting to relax. Then it hit me. I grabbed Arthur’s pant leg.

“Mr. Sterling, I know who is having an affair with your son-in-law.”

“It’s her.”
