My Wedding Was Ruined By A Fake DNA Result Chapter 09

My mother’s hatred burned like a living thing.

“Why?! Why would you do this to my Vivian?! Weren’t we good enough to you?! She brought you home – gave you a way out of that hell- and you destroyed her! Why?!”

She clawed at Serena, slapping her across the face over and over- insane, unhinged.

“You owe her your life! You should be dead – not her!”

Serena laughed – mocking.

“She’s dead – and you’re blaming me? Funny. If you’d actually loved her – would you have slapped your own

daughter across the face just because of one word from me?”

She turned to my father.

“You what right do you have to blame me? You let her go too. Did you ever stop me?”

She pointed at Hudson.

“You’re the one who went after your own sister. How is that my fault? She was coughing up blood – the

doctor said she was sick – but you decided it was a fever. You had eyes. You just refused to see.”

“You killed her – step by step. What does any of that have to do with me?!”

“Yes – I was jealous. She had a good family. Parents who loved her. A brother who adored her. But look at

you now – her family killed her.”

She turned to Julian – rage still burning.

“Julian – you have no right to judge me. You’re the one who betrayed her first.”

Julian’s feet seemed to be firmly welded there. His pupils shook. His face was so black that ink seemed

about to drip from it.

“Serena, so it really was you who deliberately drugged me back then!”

Serena’s mouth twisted downward. Her face was ferocious. As if she had heard the biggest joke in the world,

she laughed wildly out loud.

“Drugged what? Stop finding excuses for yourself, Julian. You were already cheating while you were dating Faye. That night I only deliberately got you drunk. I didn’t force you onto my bed. It was you who cheated first and then felt guilty. When I said Faye was bullying me and hurting me, you only then found an excuse for your cheating – that it was because Faye was vicious that you transferred your affection, wasn’t it? The

most hypocritical person here is you! What deep affection are you pretending now?”

The family that had once laughed and chatted happily in the private lounge was now at each other’s throats,

wishing they could bite the flesh and blood off one another.

After being driven out of the Hale family, the house I rented had only one window.

It was too small. Square and upright, like a prison cell that imprisoned me.

Perhaps it wasn’t that house that imprisoned me. It was the love from my family that I had believed in that

imprisoned me.

My soul began to grow light again.

Finally, I took a deep look at my parents and my brother, softly said goodbye, and then lost consciousness.

Hudson moved first. He grabbed a knife and stabbed Serena again and again.

She collapsed in a pool of blood.

Julian stood frozen – unable to move.

Hudson turned to him.

“Yes – we’re all guilty. But you and Serena started this. You pinned everything on her. You betrayed her.”

Julian opened his mouth – but there was nothing to say.

When Hudson’s blade drove into him-white-hot pain spread through his chest.

His eyes went distant.

“Vivian…”

By the time the police arrived – blood everywhere.

They took Hudson away. My parents didn’t move.

My mother wandered to my room – curled up on my bed – whispering my name, over and over.

My father tried to hold the family together. But he didn’t have the strength.

He took my mother to doctors – they said her heart was broken.

One morning, she made breakfast – all my favorite foods.

My father thought she was finally healing. He reached for her, smiling.

She cut him off.

“Let’s eat first.”

She was calm. Too calm.

Fifteen minutes later – my father collapsed at the table.

My mother walked into the kitchen. Turned on the gas.

A strange smile curled at her lips.

“Vivian. Mommy’s avenging you.”

My father didn’t show up for work for days. When someone finally checked they found two bodies in the

estate.

Seven years later. Hudson was released from prison. He was missing a leg.

He limped up the hill. Laid flowers at Faye’s grave.

He sat there and talked for a long time.

He was the only one who’d survived. And he’d spend the rest of his life paying for it.

He asked:

“Faye – will you ever forgive me?”

A gust of wind blew through. The flowers slipped from the gravestone – falling to the ground.

Hudson sat there. Staring.

He broke down – sobbing.

Three words, over and over.

“I’m sorry.”
