My Wedding Was Ruined By A Fake DNA Result Chapter 02

“What do you mean, not treating it anymore?”

A male voice came from behind me.

It was probably because he had stepped out for air. Julian Cross held a cigarette between his fingers, a look of uncertain probing flashing through his eyes.

Seeing that I didn’t speak, he urgently repeated the question.

“What do you mean, not treating it anymore? Who were you just talking to on the phone?”

I felt drained, and every step was a struggle.

I forced myself up and pulled my shirt back on.

“I told you I’m not well. I need help. Do you believe me?”

Julian stared at me for a long time, searching for cracks in my story.

Then he laughed. “Fine. I’ll give you money.”

My head snapped up. “Really?”

Maybe I’d actually sleep tonight.

But his voice turned cold — sharp as a blade. “Faye, you’ll say anything for money now, won’t you?”

“Claiming you’re sick — that’s for money too, isn’t it? You humiliated yourself for it just now. Now you’re making excuses.”

He glared at me like I was a disappointment.

I opened my mouth to explain. Then I stopped.

Somewhere along the line, they’d all stopped believing me.

It seemed to start after Serena appeared.

At that time, she was a well-known poor student at school. Her mother had been taken away to a remote place, and her father was a troubled drunk.

One day on the way home, she stepped in when I was in danger. She saved me.

I brought her home, treated her as my best friend, and had my family sponsor her.

Gradually, Julian’s gaze lingered on her more and more.

My brother also gave his care to her.

My parents thought she was well-behaved and sensible, and even considered taking her in as a goddaughter.

Then one night, Julian stormed into my room and yanked me out of bed.

“Faye! How could you be so cruel?! Just because I gave Serena a piece of chicken yesterday — you locked her in the bathroom all night?!”

I was stunned. Denied everything.

Then Serena walked in, soaked from head to toe. She said just one sentence:

“Faye — why would you do this to me?”

One sentence. And I was convicted.

My mom stormed toward me, furious.

“Faye! Is this how I raised you?!”

From then on, my parents no longer believed me, my brother hated me, and Julian even more unrestrainedly showed his preference for Serena.

Later, I got tired and stopped explaining.

Because no matter how much I explained, even if I wore my lips out, they would never believe me.

Seeing that I no longer spoke, Julian thought he had guessed correctly and let out two cold laughs.

“Did I hit the mark?”

“You still haven’t paid what you owe the Hale family this month, have you? By noon tomorrow, If Serena doesn’t receive what you owe by noon tomorrow, I’ll make sure everyone sees what happened at the club last night!”

I stared at the undisguised disgust in his eyes. Frozen.

Something heavy settled in my chest. Heavy. Sour.

When we were kids, I had no one to play with. Julian held my hand and said he’d always be on my side.

When we grew up, he chased me for three months — flowers every day. When anyone hurt me, he paid them back a hundred times over.

He said his world was small. Only big enough for me.

Now he wanted to put my pictures online?

My nose burned. Tears hit the floor.

One after another. Each one landing on my heart.

Each one making me feel more helpless.

All night, I barely slept. My stomach was a mess.

Like a hammer pounding inside my skull. Loud. Painful.

I reached for something to ease the pounding in my head.

The next morning, before noon, my phone was flooded with calls and texts from strangers.

“Saw the photos. Are people really paying to see them?”

My face went white. My fingers trembled as I opened Julian’s chat.

He sent a link.

I clicked it. The color drained from my face completely.

Photos from the club had been posted online, and strangers were already bidding on them.

A special note at the bottom:

“The highest bidder wins. The winner gets exclusive access.”

Julian had deliberately kept the bids climbing in tiny increments.

“We gave you time to raise the money yesterday. But your brother said you used a burner phone to text Serena those photos of you and me together. She was upset. This is your punishment.”
