Forced to Take the Blame, Reborn as Silverveil’s Royalty Chapter 06

Forced to Take the Blame, Reborn as Silverveil’s Royalty Chapter 06

When I became aware again, I was floating in darkness.

“Host death confirmed,” the System said in its cold, mechanical voice. “Scanning for a compatible

new world…”

Then I saw light.

I shut my eyes on instinct, only to realize my eyelids felt impossibly heavy.

Someone was holding my hand, and that hand was warm.

“She’s awake! Doctor, she’s awake!”

It was a woman’s voice, gentle and trembling with joy.

I forced my eyes open.

A stranger’s face came into view.

She looked to be in her forties, elegant and well cared for. Her eyes were swollen from crying, but right now they were overflowing with relief. She held my hand tightly, like she was afraid to let go.

“Sweetheart, you’re finally awake…” Tears spilled down her cheeks. “You scared me half to death. You were unconscious for three whole days…”

Mom?

I froze.

I looked around. It was a private hospital suite, spacious and bright, with the city lights glowing

outside the window.

Machines beeped steadily. Doctors and nurses stood around the bed.

And I was lying in it.

“I…” I started, my voice raw.

“Don’t talk yet. Have some water first.”

The woman carefully helped me sit up and guided a straw to my lips.

I took a few sips, then finally looked down at my hand.

My fingers were long and pale, with no deformities and no scars.

This was not my hand.

“System?” I asked silently.

“Host, new world successfully loaded.”

“Your current identity is Isolde Veyra, princess of Silverveil Pack. Both parents are alive. Family relations are harmonious. You have one promised mate. Current compatibility: 98%.

Had I really been reborn?

“Isolde, are you hurting anywhere?” the woman–my mother now–asked anxiously.

I shook my head.

She let out a breath of relief, then started crying again.

“This is all my fault. I never should’ve pushed you into that internship. If you don’t like it, you never have to go back, okay? You can do whatever you want. I won’t force you ever again.”

Her eyes were so gentle and so sincere, unlike anything I had ever seen before.

The door opened, and an Alpha strode in, dressed in a sharp suit, his presence calm and

commanding.

The moment he saw I was awake, the tension in his face broke.

“You’re awake. Good.”

He came over and tugged my blanket into place.

“Isolde, next time, be more careful behind the wheel. Your mother nearly tore this hospital apart.”

His tone was stern, but the concern in his eyes was impossible to miss.

This was my father, the Alpha of Silverveil Pack.

“Dad…” I said carefully, testing the word.

He went still for a second, and then his eyes turned red.

“Yeah… yeah… good… it’s good that you’re awake.”

They hovered around me, asking question after question, terrified I might be uncomfortable in the slightest way.

When the nurse came to change my dressing, I finally learned I had been in a car accident.

I had been driving to my internship when a truck hit my car. I ended up with a concussion and a

minor fracture.

“Thank God you had your seat belt on, or…” My mother broke off halfway through and covered her

mouth.

My father wrapped an arm around her. “That’s enough. She’s awake now. Don’t say the rest.”

I looked at them.

So this was what it felt like to be loved by your parents.

There really were parents who, when their child got hurt, cared first about whether she was in pain instead of scolding her for being careless or for causing trouble.

There really were parents who felt joy when their daughter opened her eyes instead of blame.

My nose stung, and tears slipped down my face before I could stop them.

“What’s wrong? Are you hurting somewhere?” my mother asked at once, panicked again.

I shook my head hard.

It was just…

I was not used to any of this.

I stayed in the hospital for a week.

Over that week, I slowly adjusted to my new identity.

I was now Isolde, twenty–two years old and freshly back from studying abroad.

My parents were Drake and Morrigan, the Alpha and Luna of Silverveil Pack, and the wealthiest figures in the Northern Territory.

I was their only child, spoiled and cherished since I was little.

And I had a promised mate too.

His name was Darian Frost, and he had been my childhood sweetheart.

While I was in the hospital, he came to see me every single day, checking on me with quiet,

oughtful care.

“Isolde, you scared me to death.”

“And no more driving that fast, got it?”

I nodded.

He smiled, soft and warm.

He was nothing like Ronan.

Ronan’s eyes had always been full of desire.

But Darian’s eyes were clear and steady, full of nothing but pure concern.

The day I was discharged, my parents and Darian all came to get me.

“Go home and rest. The pack can wait,” my father said. “We’ll talk about all that after you’ve fully

recovered.”

“Exactly,” my mother said, slipping her arm through mine. “I made you a nice nourishing soup. We’ll go home and have some.”

Darian carried my bag and stayed by my side.
