My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 12 Revenge

Bella’s POV

Two weeks made a different woman of me.

The Viscusos was retreating. The treatments were working. They gave me three infusions a week, and each one settled like liquid gold in my bones..

Everyday, I woke up each morning a little stronger.

Snow was flourishing too. Under the Moon Mate bond, she wasn’t just recovering. She was evolving. I felt her growing inside me. She was bigger than she’d been before the extraction. Faster. Fiercer.

It was exhilarating.

Everyone knew that I belonged to Caleb. They respected me. Maids bowed their heads as I walked by.

At first, it was hard to wrap my mind around. I’d always been a nobody. I’d always lurked in the shadows.

But at the Thorn Cliff Pack, I was revered.

Caleb treated me like I was a diamond. He doted on me. We made love several times a day. Sweet, sensual love. Hungry, passionate love. He couldn’t get enough of me.

I felt the same.

I started joining Caleb on his morning walks around the grounds. We took long, winding paths through the training grounds, past the residential quarters, along the river and back. He showed me every corner of the Thorn Cliff Pack.

“The south barracks need repairs before winter,” he said one morning. He gestured toward a long stone building. “I’ve ordered the materials. We’ll have it done by the first frost.”

“You plan that far ahead?” I asked.

He gave me a look. “You don’t?”

I thought about my own pack. Silas never planned ahead. He fixed problems as they came. “No, I guess we don’t,” I told him.

“Not everyone should be Alpha,” he said.

Over the course of those two weeks, I came to understand the Thorn Cliff Pack in a way that showed me my own pack’s dysfunction. Caleb’s warriors were strong. They trained every day. The pack’s finances were transparent. The territory was well-patrolled.

Caleb was respected. Not feared. His pack members greeted him with genuine warmth. They stopped to talk to him. They asked for his opinion. He listened to them. Actually listened.

This was how a pack should be run, I found myself thinking time and time again during those two weeks. This is how an Alpha should be.

And through it all, one thought circled around in my head.

I’d be wronged. By Silas. By Madison. By my parents.

I was stronger now. Much stronger than I’d ever been.

And with that strength came the need for something. Something real and raw.

I wanted revenge.

I mustered up the courage to talk to Caleb one night during dinner. I wasn’t sure how he’d feel about it.

We sat across from each other in a private dining room. It was a small space off the main hall, with a fire in the corner and a table set for two. There were candles. And wine. The food was incredible.

“I want to talk to you about something,” I told him. “Something serious.”

Caleb set down his fork.

“Let me go first,” he said. “My scouts have been reporting on the Howling Moon’s condition,” he said. “I need you to know what they’ve found.”

I furrowed my brows. “Tell me.”

“They’re in trouble, Bella. Serious trouble. “Financially, they’re a mess. Madison’s spending was catastrophic. Clothing, jewelry, redecorating, parties. And Silas diverted pack funds to pay Mustor’s services. Your treasury is nearly empty.”

I absorbed this.

“That’s not all,” he sighed. “The militarily is weakened. Three senior Gammas have defected to neighboring packs. Other packs are…testing the borders. Probing them. To see if they can…”

“Attack?” I asked.

That bothered me. There were a lot of people in the pack I cared for. It wasn’t there fault that Silas was running the pack into the ground. They were innocent. They didn’t deserve a war.

“Yes,” Caleb confirmed. “I’m sorry to say, but your pack doesn’t stand much of a chance. It will be taken over soon. Silas is a terrible Alpha. He’s leading his pack to ruin. Your pack will be taken over by first front.” He paused. “It doesn’t matter though. You’re staying here. With me.”

My mind flashed back to my pack. To the callous look in Silas’s eyes when he left me at the wizard’s cottage. To the smirk on Madison’s face when tripped me at the banquet.

“What are you thinking about?” Caleb asked.

“My pack,” I told him. “It’s sad. They don’t deserve to fold like that. It’s not their fault.”

An idea came to me then.

“Caleb,” I said. “Would you do anything for me?”

“Anything?” he raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, anything,” I repeated.

Caleb stood up. He came over to me and took my hand, causing me to stand from the table. He looked deep into my eyes. My breath hitched.

He cupped my chin in his hand. He tilted my face up to his.

Then he leaned forward and kissed me.

“You are mine,” he told me. “Our wolves are bonded. I will name you Luna of Thorncliff Pack. I will give you anything you want. Anything at all. The world. The sky. The moon. It’s all yours for the taking, Bella. All you have to do is ask.”

His scent washed over me. Our matebond pulsed. I bit my lip.

He cocked his head to the side.

“Just tell me, Bella. What do you want. What do you want more than anything?”

He took a step back to look me in the eyes. I knew it then, in my heart. That he was my one true mate. My bond with Silas paled in comparison. Caleb was everything. This was everything.

Caleb was my rewards for all the hardship I’d endured.

And I’d endured a lot. Too much. None it had been my fault. I saw that now. I’d been a victim.

But I wasn’t a victim anymore.

I was strong. And powerful. With an equally powerful alpha at my side.

“What is it, Bella,” he said. “What do you want?”

My heart raced. But it was any easy question. I knew exactly what I wanted.

I locked my eyes on his, and said, my voice steady and firm:

“I want revenge.”
