My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 01

My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 01 The Rebirth Ritual
Bella’s POV “You’re signing the contract, Bella. That’s an order. This ritual is the only way to save your sister’s wolf.” Silas’s alpha aura came off of him in waves. His face was twisted in anger. I recoiled, backing myself into the corner of the room. Of course he wanted me to do this. It was for Madison. Everything was for Madison. Always. My twin sister. The one everyone adored. It was no secret that Silas liked her better. I was his mate, but it didn’t matter. Everyone doted on Madison. My parents, my mate, the entire pack. Madison was a ray of sunshine. And I was just a dark shadow. Silas stood by the fireplace. His fist was clenched at his side. He locked eyes with mine. I could feel his Alpha aura coming off of him in waves. Madison’s wolf was sick. It had gone into a coma eight years ago. Madison was desperate to save her wolf. So she’d tracked down a wizard. The wizard agreed to do a Rebirth Ritual using my wolf. Silas was demanding that I sign the contract. I was scared though. What if something went wrong? Plus I was sick. “Please,” I begged, wringing my hands. “Don’t make me do this, Silas. I’m too weak. Too sick. I…” My heart hammered in my chest. “I’m not asking, Bella.” He cut me off. He pushed off the mantel and began to pace. “I can’t believe you’re even hesitating. You’re such a coward.” Silas was the Alpha of the Howling Moon Pack. And he was my mate. He didn’t treat me like it though. We were mates by name only. Silas didn’t want me. He wanted Madison. He believed the Moon Goddess chose the wrong sister for him. “I just need time,” I said, my voice quivering. I blinked back the tears in my eyes. “Damnit, Bella!” Silas punched the wall. Then he turned on me. His wolf flashed on his face. He raised his hand. I cowered. “Silas,” I gasped. He’d never hit me before. But there was fire in his eyes. I winced, waiting for his hand to land on my face. “I’m your alpha. You should obey me.” A tear ran down my cheek. He glared at me, his hand still raised. I swallowed hard and lowered my eyes. My hands shook. My throat felt tight. He lowered his hand. “You’re doing this, Bella,” he snarled. “You’re signing this contract.” He stormed to his desk. He picked up a document. It was thick, heavy paper. It hummed with magic. Silas took a deep breath. Then he slid the contract across the desk. “The wizard has made it very clear,” Silas said. “The Rebirth Ritual requires a blood relative. You are twins. Your wolves share an origin thread.” Again he locked eyes with me. There was fire in his eyes. “Sign the contract, Bella.” My heart squeezed. Silas didn’t care about me at all. The ritual was dangerous. There were risks. But all he cared about was saving Madison’s wolf. I walked over to the desk and picked up the contract. The text was written in an ancient language. I didn’t fully understand it. My stomach turned. My hands trembled. “I want…can I have time to review this?” I asked, my voice small. “I need to know what I’m signing.” “I already told you what you’re signing,” he said firmly. “I…I want to help my sister. I really do. It’s just that, I haven’t been feeling well. I’ve told you this. Maybe it’s not the right time for me to…” “Enough,” he snapped at me. “I don’t want to hear any more excuses.” I looked at him. Really looked. The way I used to look at him when we first bonded. Back when I believed the Moon Goddess had given me a gift instead of a punishment. He was handsome. Tall and broad, with dark hair that fell across his forehead. A sharp, masculine jaw line. A broad chest. “I’m not making excuses,” I said quietly. “I’m just… asking for time.” Silas planted both hands on the desk and leaned forward. “Let me be clear.” His voice dropped, low and dangerous. His Alpha energy pressed against me, tight around my ribs. “You WILL sign the contract. If you don’t, I will petition the Elder Council to break our mate bond.” The words landed hard. Break our mate bond? “You would reject me?” My voice came out smaller than I wanted. “Publicly?” “If that’s what it takes.” I was shocked. He would really do that to me? I’d been a good a mate. A patient mate. A kind and loyal mate. I did whatever he asked me to do. I doted on him. A public rejection would ruin me. I could already hear the vicious whispers. The stares. He was the alpha, and if he rejected me? I’d lose my position. I’d be the lowest of the low. I’d be nothing. Nobody. I’d be cast out to live in the outskirts of our pack, with the wolfless and poor. I’d be even worse off than I was now. I bit back a sharp sob. Averting my eyes, I shrank back towards the wall. His words were like a knife straight to my heart. We were only mates by name. But the thought of him breaking our bond. I couldn’t even bare to think about it. Silas straightened. He buttoned his jacket his jacket. His eyes left mine. “You have one day to decide,” he growled, his voice low. “Sign the contract. Or I will reject you.”
