Too Late to Beg: I’m No Longer Yours Chapter 10

Only violent weeping remained on his end.

I didn’t soften.

“From now on, I will only provide the bare minimum legal allowance.”

“As for tuition, get a student loan. Find a part–time job.”

Cole panicked.

“Nova, I’m your only family left!”

I closed my eyes.

“You stopped being family the second you handed Mom’s necklace to a stranger.”

After I hung up, Hayes finally made his move.

He didn’t go live.

He posted a massive essay.

He claimed he and Delaney were purely platonic.

He claimed his comment about me not being able to live without him was just a tasteless joke.

He acknowledged everything I had done for him over the years and insisted he was endlessly grateful.

Finally, he took all the blame onto himself.

[Please stop attacking Laney. She has fragile health.]

That single line catapulted Delaney right back to the top of the trending list.

Because someone quickly exposed her so–called heart condition paperwork. It was forged by a sketchy clinic that

had lost its medical license years ago.

And the therapist who had officially diagnosed me with paranoia? That was Delaney’s cousin.

The internet lost its collective mind.

[Faking medical records for sympathy AND trying to gaslight the real girlfriend into a psych ward?!]

[This isn’t playing the victim. This is literal fraud.]

[Someone call the police.]

And I did.

Falsifying psychiatric evaluations. Defamation. Malicious slander.

I also submitted evidence of Hayes embezzling company loans to buy Delaney designer handbags–loans that I had

personally covered.

My lawyer filed simultaneous lawsuits to recover the debts.

Hayes’s startup had barely survived its darkest days thanks to my cash injection.

Now that his shady early bookkeeping was exposed, his investors pulled out en masse.

On the day of his product launch, the very first question from the press was:

“Mr. Whitmore. Is it true your seed funding was siphoned entirely from your ex–girlfriend?”

All the color drained from his face.

The launch was abruptly canceled.
