Not His Bride Anymore Chapter 07

The wedding planner shot Callan a look. He wiped sweat from his forehead.

“It’s… it’s what Callan ordered. Said he had a bet with Celeste. To see how

long the bride would take to notice.”

“Ridiculous! Where is Callan? Get him out here! Marriage is the most sacred commitment in life. It is not a joke!”

Callan’s father was white with fury.

The guests gathered around the sign. Voices rose.

“This isn’t a wedding. This is a public humiliation.”

“I heard the bride comes from nothing. So she’s supposed to just take it?”

“If that were my daughter, I’d never let her set foot in this family again.”

Callan rushed over. He saw the photo. His face went white.

He’d ordered it.

Celeste had begged him to make the bet. He’d thought it was harmless. He’d said yes.

Now he saw it differently.

Eden. Crouched in the corner. Fixing Celeste’s gown. Her face was agony.

He’d promised her mother. The most perfect wedding.

Was this a perfect wedding?

All those bets. Using their wedding. Had he gone too far?

Had she saved up enough disappointment to actually be done with him?

The thought hit him like drowning.

He channeled the terror into rage. He screamed at the planner.

“Change the photo back!”

The planner did it. He finally said what he’d been holding in.

“What’s the point? The bride is gone. Honestly? If I were her, I’d have left too.”

“The bride is gone?”

Callan’s mother stared at Callan. Disbelieving.

“Callan, what have you done? Where is Eden? Don’t tell me she really left.”
