One of the younger members of the clan happened to bring back news from the outside world.

Rosalie had been beaten so badly by an enraged society wife that her face was ruined. As it turned out, her son was not a Sterling at all. When Adrian’s older brother was still alive, he had always been busy with work, and Rosalie, unable to stand the loneliness, had taken a lover behind his back.

The blow was too much for Eleanor. Not long after, she passed away from illness, and Adrian drove Rosalie and her son out of the Sterling family.

He spent his days drowning himself in alcohol. Then the distant relatives of the Sterling family joined hands with senior executives at Sterling Group and forced him out of power. Soon after, he was thrown out of the Sterling estate.

“Iris, if you want to marry another man, this car will have to run me` over first.”

The clansmen tried to pull him away, but I was not in a hurry.

Because in the next second, Rosalie came running over with a stuffed doll in her arms, laughing and crying like a madwoman.

“Adrian, this is perfect. No one can stop us from being a family of three anymore. You have no idea how much Teddy has been crying to see you.”

The blood parasites inside Rosalie had flared up. The pain had driven her out of her mind, and she had mistaken the dott for her child.

“Recently, two bodies, one male and one female, were found beneath a cliff. The man is suspected to be the former CEO of Sterling Group. According to the preliminary forensic report, the woman stabbed the man to death before taking her own life. What makes the case unusual is that the man’s body had already severely decomposed.”

I was eating a bowl of chilled sorbet when I saw Elias pushing our son toward me. I turned off the television without another thought.

“What made you smile like that?” he asked.

I smiled and shook my head. Then I went with him and our son for a walk in the garden.

In the end, happiness had finally found me.
