“Mrs. Moretti, are you seriously telling me you don’t know your own daughter’s test scores?”

“Elena’s grades used to be average, yes, but she improved

at an incredible rate in her final semester. Her class ranking

shot straight to the top.”

“On this last round of standardized exams, her total score

was one of the highest in the entire state. The programming project she submitted also received the highest possible rating.”

“What? She ranked that high?”

Several voices blurted it out at once.

Especially Bianca.

She had just been wondering if she’d gone too far when she’d nearly sabotaged my exam.

Now, hearing that my score was more than two hundred points higher than hers, her expression shifted.

“I should have put all three pills in that milk.”

The room fell silent.

Father turned to look at her, and for the first time, his expression was the one he reserved for traitors.

Unlike Bianca’s jealousy, my parents felt mostly shock.
