After their wedding, Thera Sutherland and Leo Alcott didn’t rush off to some popular destination for their honeymoon. Instead, they took a slow drive along the mountain roads surrounding a small town.

Leo Alcott knew Thera loved peace and quiet, so he had specially selected a few guesthouses nestled by streams and bamboo groves.

During the day, he’d sit with her by the stream, fishing and watching the mountain mist. At night, they would cozy up in the guesthouse’s small living room–one reading a book, the other organizing her design

sketches.

Whenever they glanced up and their eyes met, they would see a gentle, smiling warmth reflected back.

After their honeymoon, Thera Sutherland returned to her job at the jewelry company under The Alcott Group.

Every morning, Leo Alcott would leave ten minutes early to take a detour and drop her off at work, then he would be there to pick her up right on time in the evening.

Whenever Thera had to work late, Leo would sit in the coffee shop next to her office, order her favorite latte, and wait for her to be done.

Her colleagues often teased her, “Mr. Alcott is so good to you! He spoils you like a princess.”

Thera would always just smile and nod, unable to hide the sweet

happiness in her eyes.

“This was the life she had always wanted–free of suspicion and hurt, filled only with a quiet, steady peace!

Leo Alcott never interfered with Thera’s career, but he always supported her in the smallest of ways.

When he heard she needed a special type of gemstone, he would quietly contact suppliers around the world to help her find it.

If she stayed up late revising her designs, he would stay with her, working in his study and occasionally handing her a warm towel.

Everyone said Thera had married well, but only she knew that it wasn’t because of Leo Alcott’s status. It was because he saved all his love and devotion just for her.

A college classmate, who was in town for a business trip, asked her out for coffee and brought up Julian Rhodes. “I went to his company last week to discuss a partnership and saw him,” the classmate said. “He’s gotten so much thinner, and his eyes were completely bloodshot. I hear he basically lives at the office now.”

Thera’s fingers, wrapped around her coffee cup, tensed for a moment. Then, she gave a small, gentle smile. “That’s all in the past.”

She glanced out the window. Leo Alcott’s car was parked by the curb, waiting for her.

Seeing the peaceful look in her eyes, her classmate sighed in relief. “As long as you’re happy now, that’s all that matters.”

Later, Thera’s “Moments in Time” Collection won a prestigious international design award.

Standing on stage with the award in her hand, Thera’s gaze traveled through the crowd and settled on Leo Alcott. “I once thought happiness was a distant, unreachable light. It wasn’t until I met him that I realized happiness is the peace you find in your everyday life. He’s the one who

made me believe that the wait was worth it.”

As soon as Thera stepped off the stage, Leo was there to meet her, pulling her into his arms. “My amazing designer.”

Thera smiled and hugged him back, her nose brushing against the collar of his suit. She breathed in his familiar, reassuring scent.

Love, it turned out, wasn’t always a dramatic, sweeping affair.

Sometimes, it’s about finding someone who understands the scars you carry and helps you turn ordinary days into poetry.
