My Boyfriend & BFF Pranked Me At Our Wedding, I Dumped Both Of Them Chapter 08

“Why are you here? Because without me, you have no traffic?”

His face went pale.

“Nora, I know I was wrong.” It took him a long time to raise his head. “I lost myself. For years, all I thought about was traffic, followers, sponsorships, and money.

“I thought… I thought we had all the time in the world. I believed I could treat you well after I’d made enough.”

His voice faded until it was barely a breath.

He wiped his face and drew a deep breath.

“Give me one more chance. Please. I’ll change anything you want. I’ll stop making videos. I just need you to…”

He slid his phone toward me. On the screen was a statement he hadn’t published yet.

It described our six-year relationship, how our wedding had been turned into a celebration banquet, and how he had never obtained my consent for those pranks.

“I want to apologize publicly. I’ve left your name out, and I wanted to ask you before posting

it.”

I read it and pushed the phone back.

“Don’t include my photos. And don’t use old pictures of us together to prove you loved me.”

He nodded quickly. “Okay. I’ll do whatever you want.”

“And setting the record straight is your responsibility. I haven’t agreed to get back together.”

The hope that had just flickered in his eyes slowly faded.

“If you had to choose right now between me and the traffic of 10 million followers,” I asked, looking at him, “which would you pick?”

He answered without hesitation. “You! Nora, I’d choose you. Of course I’d choose you!”

I looked into his wide, bloodshot eyes and smiled faintly.

“But I’ll never choose you again.”

The color drained from Ethan’s face. As though struck, he collapsed against his chair.

“I chose you a long time ago,” I said. “I chose you over and over again.

“Every time you humiliated me. Every time you shoved me in front of a camera and made me the joke.

“I kept choosing you, but you never once chose me.”

He struggled to his feet, bracing his hands against the edge of the table, and blocked the

aisle.

“What else can I do?”

I glanced at the door.

As though he finally understood, he slowly stepped aside.

I rose, paid the bill, and left.

Rain in Belvaria came without warning.

As I wondered whether I should buy an umbrella, someone stepped beside me and held one over my head.

“You didn’t bring one,” Adrian said, looking down at me.

He was just as he always was, holding the umbrella over me while leaving a little space between us.

I looked up at him. “What are you doing here?”

“I came out to buy a few things. I thought I recognized you from a distance.” He lifted the brown paper bag in his left hand.

He glanced toward Ethan, who was still dazed inside the coffee shop.

“A friend of yours?”

“My ex-boyfriend,” I said. “We’ve made things clear.”

Adrian smiled. “Come on. Let’s walk back together.”

By the time Ethan came running out, we were already far away.

A week later, Ethan published the statement.

I was revising a skirt pattern when Kelly sent me the screenshots.

He hadn’t included any photos of me or add

sentimental music.

He wrote about what he had done: I didn’t stop when she told me not to film. When she broke up with me, I edited that into a video too. There was no script, and she wasn’t acting along

with us.

Some commenters cursed him. Others said it was just another publicity stunt.

He added only one reply.

Ethan: [Please don’t contact her or share the videos of her being frightened.]

Vanessa went live that same day and insisted Ethan had been responsible for all the planning and editing.

“I was just following his lead.”

Before long, people dug up clips of her handing me the red nose at the Best Clown Award ceremony and filming me with a camera.

Someone asked what about my behavior had made her think I was willing.

At first, she said she had done it for work. As the questions pressed her, she blurted out, “She always put up with it before. How was I supposed to know she meant it this time?”

She ended the livestream herself.

Afterward, she tried posting everyday content on a new account, but commenters kept bringing up those words. The partnerships she had lined up fell through too.
